Sorry about your dad. I think super visa is your only choice.Koala Bear said:Hi everyone,
I need an advise on parents sponsorship. My dad has been recently diagnosed with cancer. I am the only caregiver as both my mom and my older brother have passed away. I would like to bring him to Canada. Given his health condition we cannot wait for 3-4 years which is a current processing time. Is there a way to speed up the process for people in our circumstances. Any advise will be appreciated.
Sorry to hear about his illness, but he will have to pass medical exam before any visa could be issued.Koala Bear said:Hi everyone,

He won't pass the medical for the super visa. A regular visitor visa is the only option. Important to note that they will have to pay out of pocked for any health care / treatment received while in Canada. As a visitor - he won't be covered under the provincial health care system and no private insurance policy is going to cover the costs of cancer treatment. It would be wise to assume this may run several $100,000's.OP_POP said:Sorry about your dad. I think super visa is your only choice.
Good luck.
You are just sponsoring your father and her wife. It is another matter her wife is your mother also.g1m said:My status is showing up now too, but it only has my father's name in applicant section and my mother's name is not there. Is that because my dad is the principal applicant and that is how they show the status, even when you apply for both the parents.
You're incorrect. Read up on excessive burden. Parents can and are refused for reasons such as cancer.lenium said:I don't think having cancer is a reason to fail medical tests. I believe they are more concerned about illnesses that can be transferred to other people or cause danger for the society. Check on that one with a lawyer.
hi Sylvia. I am already gathering all the necessary documents before the immigration re-open again next year 2016 and sending documents from here to Philippines (just for the signature of my mom) takes a long time. you see they only accept 5,000 applicant every year. I am confused on some questions like IMM 5768, FINANCIAL EVALUATION FOR PARENTS SPONSORSHIP. I have a co-signer (my husband), on question number 7: total number of persons...I should write ''3'' on the box, right? what will be the answers on questions 4,5 &6? I am sponsoring just my mom. thanks in advance.sylvia27 said:Anyone sponsoring parents in 2015 when the program reopens? Let's connect and help each other in this process.
By the way, I'm applying from Quebec. I started to prepare some of the forms and fill them up. Hopefully they don't update them last minute.
Did anyone else start with preparations?
If you can answer Question 2 to 6; 7 will automatically populate itself (you cannot write there). If your family only consists of 2 members (no other dependents, current/previous undertakings) and you are only inviting your mom (which means box 3 in IMM0008 is 1); then it should be 3.proulx said:hi Sylvia. Today is first time i was able to log in to check eCas using my application number. Before the system didnt recognize my attempts and i wasn't able to log in.
I'm sponsoring my mom and dad. But only my mom is showing up as sponsored person when i log in to ecas. Is that because my dad is dependant? that's why he is not showing up
thank you
