hi Rossei,
For some reason I can't edit the New entry page any more.
Please help me update, user warmwind3, line 156, ecas shows application received.

thanks.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Google drive sharing feature changed a bit and so it was causing this issue.

Anyway, I fixed it. I also updated it with a new name ADD/UPDATE ENTRY.

Features:
- ADD/UPDATE ENTRY has 2 separate parts for Updating and Adding. If you're a current user, you can use any row from 6 to 20 to enter info.
- Row 5 is locked except first column (Cell A5). Before entering new data, you can now select your username from dropdown menu. The rest of the columns will automatically extract info from Stage1 & Stage2 (may take few seconds). The missing fields will be highlighted yellow for your convenience. This will help you to know what fields you may want to change/update.
- You can then enter new data (using rows 6-20) after selecting your username again for the specific row you're using.
- Rows 26-35 are kept only for NEW USERS.
- Instructions have been updated accordingly in INTRODUCTION sheet.

Update on pre-5000CAP PGP Applications:

2011 (May-November) PGP applicants have recently started receiving request for additional documents. They are perhaps the last batch before CIC paused PGP applications for 2 years. Here's the forum topic link.

So based on this, we should expect to get the letter of request in approximately two years, correct?

Most of 2010 applicants are in the last stage of PR processing. Some already got IMM Visa on their passports.
2011 application are getting started.

If CIC can complete all pre-5000 cap era sponsorship applications this year; we could hear something from them as early as 2016.

Thanks for the info :)

I don't have any authentic stat on 2010 & 2011. But if I understand the backlog data, published way back on 18-Dec-2013, correctly; here's what I think:

- By this time of 2015, CIC may have 42K applications pending among which 20-25K are perhaps from 2010-11, 8-12K from 2011 (May-Nov), 5K from 2014 and 5K from 2015 (us).
- CIC claims to process 20K applications each year.
- If most 2010 files are in final stage of processing and 2011 files have just started, we can assume that CIC can finish these by early-mid of 2016.
- Then CIC will start 2014 files which may take rest of 2016.
- So, we can be as early as mid-2016 to early-2017.

If my predictions are right, we should keep NOA/Option C from 2014 & 2015 in hand ASAP.

But all these can get delayed by 6-12 months if the initial 42K doesn't include 5,000 cap files from 2014 & 2015.

I think that those who submitted applications between July 18, 2011 and November 4, 2011 will be processed faster: sponsorship will be approved based on IMM1334 already submitted:

Applications received between July 18, 2011 and November 4, 2011:

Sponsors who submitted applications between July 18, 2011 and November 4, 2011, will have already submitted the IMM 0008 for their parent(s) or grandparent(s) with their IMM 1344. Once eligibility has been reviewed, the sponsor will be instructed to submit an updated IMM 0008 and all supporting documentation to the CPC-M.

Hi, Im getting ready for sponsorship of my parents next year when CIC open the doors

Are the forms for both Step 1 and Step 2 included in the application package (as per link below)? Or do we need to get separate forms for PR (for Step 2)?

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/sponsor-parents.asp

There are two steps to the application process for your parent(s) or grandparent(s) to become permanent residents.
1.As a citizen or permanent resident of Canada, you must apply to sponsor your family member.
•Your sponsorship application is processed by the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga (CPC-M).
•You will be notified in writing by CPC-M about the decision on your sponsorship application.

2.Your parent(s) and/or grandparent(s) must apply for permanent residence.

The applications for both sponsorship and permanent residence should be filled out and sent at the same time

The link has all forms you need to submit (for both sponsorship & PR). Note the dates (on right of each form) of the forms last updated. Some may get updated later this year. You will have to submit the latest ones when you submit 2016 PGP application.

If 5000 cap continues, 2016 & 17 files will be even faster than 2014 & 15. 8)

BTW, some 2010 applicants are getting PR visas now. That's 5 years of processing. If we get sponsorship approval in 2019 (almost 5 years already). Then another 1~2 years for LVO based PR processing. That won't be faster than 2010-11.

Suppose CIC finishes all backlog files (everything before 2014) by the end of 2016. And if CIC still wants to process 20K files in 2017; it will include all 2014, 15, 16 & 17 applications. How about that? 2017 files get a response in the same year, almost unbelievable!!!

Anyway, I think we would get sponsorship by 2017 (max 2018). Add another year for PR processing. I still don't understand why most LVO processing time still says around 70 months for step-2 though.

So, here's what I predict
2010-11: 5 years
2014-15: 4 years
2016-17: 3 years

Take into account the election in this year too. A new government might change policy in Family Class.

Citizenship and Immigration Minster Jason Kenney in a news conference held on May 10, 2013 described the problem as follows:
If we applied that [old] policy, we’d be on track for a backlog of 272,000 people by 2015 in this program, waiting for 16 years. That’s not acceptable. That’s not good enough for new Canadians. Instead, as a result of these efforts, we're on track for a backlog of 43,000 in 2015 and one to two year wait times.

The problem is that a backlog of 43000 in Jan 2015 or Dec 2015. If the later then it would take almost 2 more years to clear during 2016 and 2017.
If it is Jan 2015 then only about 20000 would be left in the backlog by Dec this year so technically all the backlog would be cleared by the end of next year in a perfect situation.

What's the form to use if I want to update the birth of a child and update my change of status from permanent resident to Canadian citizen? and where can I find this form? Thanks
