I think they kept accepting application so people do not get upset that limit was reached on the second day. If you want to sponsor your parents do not vote conservatives. Vote Liberals and do not split your vote by voting NDP. Next year make sure your application reach there in first few hours. I do not know how we can do this.

My application was returned today with message saying that they received the application after maximum of 5000 complete applications. Letter is dated 26 February 2015 and my application was sent by Canada Post and was delivered on Jan 5th around 12:00.


So I think the message on the CIC website about the limit reached on 16 January is not based on reality.

Sorry to hear that. My application also reached on the 5th. No news so far as I did not use credit card for payment. So I suppose we have to wait another year.

We should come out with alternative proposals which makes the process less stressful and campaign for it.

again, Jan 16 was just the date CIC ANNOUNCED the cap is filled.

Your package was arrived at CIC on Jan 5 at 12pm, which means CIC already received over 5000 packages (my guess was around 7000) before Jan 5 noon. But CIC wouldn't know by then if the cap was fill or not, coz they hadn't opened and checked all 7000 packages. In this case it took them about 2 weeks to do so and confirmed 5000 of those are complete applications.

They had to open packages to make sure they are complete and their CC would go through before announcing the cap has been reached.

Next year the CIC will accept applications on Jan 4th since Jan 1st falls on a Friday and they won't accept applications over the weekend. It is likely that the cap will be reached by Jan 5th as it would be next to impossible to reach the cap within the 1 hour after accepting applications on Jan 4th. It will be the same mess next year with a long line of couriers waiting their turn dumping off the applications.

I think reaching the cap by noon the second day after opening day will be the new norm.

Last year it took 3 weeks to reach the cap because a lot of the applications were incomplete. This year, those who got their applications returned due to incomplete will not make the same mistake twice. This is shown this year in reaching the cap by second day.

your cc got charged, you are definitely in 5000 cap.
the number indicates the number of application received, not completed.

I have not heard anything from CPC-M about payment or return till now. How about others whose app reached in 11am batch through CanadaPost?

How did you order GCMS notes without a File number?

Some folks have been charged whose file was delivered by CanadaPost on 5th. Does it mean among the same lot of applications delivered by CanadaPost, some were accepted while others are being returned? If yes, then that is a unfair.
