Money order will get returned. CIC required "certified check". They are the different things. Last year it happened to many people who sent in money order or draft.
There is one 2015 applicant named 'QQQ' who paid for 2 applications by Money Order and both were accepted. He is in row 174 & 175 in the Google SS.

But I cannot be 100% sure if he really paid by Money Order or Bank Draft or Certified Cheque. I'm just quoting what he inserted in the spreadsheet.

Can you please point me to forum post where people's application was return last year due to such issue.
I don't have specific links. I have friends who got rejected by sending bank draft. Then they sent package again with credit card information and got accepted. That was 2014. This year if you get rejected, you don't have any chance to re-send and get accepted. Sorry to say that.
The slim chance is CIC accepts your money order.

Re: Sponsoring Parents in 2015 (Google SS)

I've added another sheet named "Timeline-Stage2" to the existing Google SS which will track all applications (161 in total as of now) that got accepted in Stage1. This will be in use to find processing time from app received/payment charged to sponsorship approval. Same as Timeline-Stage1, this is locked to all and hence you will have to use 'New Entry' sheet to add/update info. 'New Entry' has been modified in order to collaborate both Stage1 and Stage2 databases.

- For existing users, you don't have to fill out each column in 'New Entry' if they are already available in Stage1 (but if you need to make corrections, please use whichever applicable).
- For new users, you have to fill out both Stage1 and Stage2 info in 'New Entry' sheet. If your name and info haven't been added in Timeline-Stage1; they won't make it to Timeline-Stage2.

Here's a summary of the new sheet Timeline-Stage2 (Sponsorship Eligibility)

Col 'C'/Relationship to Applicant(s): This is where you select whom you sponsored (i.e. Mom, Dad, Both Mom & Dad, w/wo Dependents etc.). I added this selection because this may determine where your files will be transferred later. What I heard is if your application has dependents; it may be transferred to regional global office. Otherwise, it may stay in Ottawa. Please, select your relationship next time you use 'New Entry' to add/update info.

Col 'F'/1st AOR Date: This is where you indicate when you receive a confirmation from CIC that they received/accepted your application. For 2014 applicants, this occurred in Jun-Jul/2014 period.

Col 'G'/Additional Doc Request Date: Generally, CIC asks for recent NOA once they issue 1st AOR. They may ask for something else. Insert the date when they request it.

Col 'H'/2nd AOR Date: I called it '2nd AOR' since CIC gives you another confirmation once they receive the additional docs they requested before.

Col 'I'/Eligibility: It's just a Yes/No option for you whether you were found Eligible to Sponsor or Not.

Col 'J'/Eligibility or Rejection Date: Put the date once you hear from CIC that you were approved/rejected as a Sponsor.

Col 'K'/Processing Time: It's calculated automatically in months from Application Received Date to Eligibility/Rejection Date. You don't see this column in 'New Entry' sheet as you don't have to fill out.

Col 'L'/File Transferred to Local Office: Insert the Date when CIC transfers PR file to the local office.

Col 'M'/Local Office: Insert the place/city/country of the local office (i.e. Ottawa, Singapore etc.).

Col 'N'/Comments: This is open for you to write any informative comments.

PS: I made this sheet based on things I heard from this forum. As we are all new to this PGP processing; things may be added/deleted as we go on. I will accept any comment/suggestion you have to offer. I hope this will serve the purpose if you're looking for it ;)

for anyone who are new to eCas.

go here. follow the instructions.
https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/ECAS.jsp

i'm using the personal info of myself, not my mom's.
i select and enter "Client ID Number" ie. my 8 digits maple card number.
i used it to check the status of my citizenship application last year too.
then enter my last name, date of birth and place of birth. that's it.

here's a screen cap for your reference.

click on "Application Received", you should see the confirmed received date (for me, it's "We received your application to sponsor (my mom's name) on January 2, 2015.")

Hmm, mine was received on 2nd Jan 2015 and CC was charged too. But nothing on ECAS yet. Anyone else in the same situation as me?

I think it is too early for your eCAS to get updated. It seems like it is getting updated based on CC charge date (it looks like that applications related to CC charges on Jan 8 - 10 have been updated to eCAS). As your CC charge was on 26th of Jan, I think yours will be updated a little bit later. Nothing to be worried about.

For now, I'm considering the E-Cas update with received status as "1st AOR" and updating the SS accordingly. Or, do you guys prefer a separate column for E-Cas update? (Actually I did it few minutes before and then changed my mind)

Thoughts?

Rossei, I think it is a good idea to consider this as first AOR. Your SS looks great.

and BTW, both applications for Ccie18614 are updated on eCAS as well (based on his post above).

Can someone guide my on this E-Cas status. What is this and how do you log in?
