may I ask what info you provide whe you called CIC? package tracking# or your personal info? Agent tols me there is nothing in my file. Does it mean I got rejected? Thanks

gave them UCI, other personal information. I called them three times, and the last agent tell me more information i need.
in your case, if they tried, but did not find anything under your UCI, the reason mayb you did not give them the right UCI when you fill your form.

Thanks wangshd! Yes I didn't give my UCI when I file my application because I don't have a UCI. I give my citizenship card number when I asked them to check. Is it because I don't have UCI so they return my application? I think the big mistake I have made is using Post Office. I mailed my file on Dec 31 9am and received Jan 5 rather than Jan 2 as they confirmed in person and in website :'(

This unfortunately happened to a few of us who used Canada Post. I hope you at least got a refund for the cost of shipping.

Firstly, Congrats to Rossei and others. Rossei, your contribution to this forum is really appreciated and I am very happy for you and your mum though we all know it will take several years before she gets her PR status.

Secondly, people should not give up hope so easily. My application went in on 5th and I am very hopeful. I did not use a credit card so I will only find out much later.

Let us keep calm and be more positive.

I think, if you do not have UCI, your app may go to a system different from most of us. If it is a complete application and should be okay for all Jan 5 applications to get into cap. I heard CIC was checking the completeness of app received after Jan 10.

My application was received on Jan 2 and i am pretty sure that it was complete.
My credit card has not been charged yet, do I still have some hope?
I checked status online using UCI but no details were available.

Don't give up hope just yet!


1. Sent my application from the UK on Dec 31, 2014 via FedEx.
2. Arrived in MISSISSAUGA on Jan 5, 2015 10:39am.
3. Credit card charged on January 30, 2015. This did not show up on my statement yesterday but I checked today and it appeared.

For my moms application and Brother application I have given the same UCI no. which was used for their Visit Visa. Did anyone received anything in regards to UCI no?

If the first 5000 complete applications have any file rejected for insufficient payment then some files after the cap will be considered to make full 5000 app accepted this year.

As per the procedure last year, I believe that if 1000 of the initial 5000 complete apps are refused because of payment issues, then only 4000 apps will be processed. CIC will not hold onto apps received after the cap and process them if initial apps are refused.
