Everyone,

I have been in Canada 2012/2013/2014. For each year I am meeting minimum income criteria. I do have NOA available for year 2012 and 2013. I will not have 2014 NOA available by Jan 2015.

Will I be eligible to sponser my mother for PR in Jan 2015? Please provide your inputs.

No you can't sponsor in Jan 2015 since you don't have 2011 income.

If you have NOA meeting LICO for 2012, 2013 and 2014, then you can apply in January 2016.

Hi,
I am new to this forum. But thanking all for sharing their experience.
In the website it says that you (sponsor) need to apply for sponsorship meanwhile parents apply for PR. Does that mean they send their application outside of Canada where they are residing? But the list of documents/forms mentioned in the website are only for sponsorship. So how can I find the documents for their PR application?
Some of you may have gone through this question already and bare with me if it is repetitive and ignorant.
Thanking you in advance.

Another question: Are the forms for both Step 1 and Step 2 included in the application package (as per link below)? Or do we need to get separate forms for PR (for Step

There are two steps to the application process for your parent(s) or grandparent(s) to become permanent residents.
1.As a citizen or permanent resident of Canada, you must apply to sponsor your family member.
•Your sponsorship application is processed by the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga (CPC-M).
•You will be notified in writing by CPC-M about the decision on your sponsorship application.

2.Your parent(s) and/or grandparent(s) must apply for permanent residence.

The applications for both sponsorship and permanent residence should be filled out and sent at the same time
Did you get answer to your question please? If so could share it? Thanks.

I'm not too sure. But I guess the safe bet is to match your NOA/ Option C. In my case, for 2013, my T4 income is more than line 150 of my Option C. So, I still need to consult my tax lawyer what to put.

In either case, you shouldn't put any approximation. This Q15 table doesn't require 2014 income (verified by call centre) as it's written on the form that:

"Provide your employment history as well as periods of unemployment for the last THREE consecutive taxation years preceding your application. Please ensure that you do not leave any gaps in time" although the word 'Present' is confusing.

Thank you so much Rossei! However I am still confused. I also contacted the call center in regards to the word "present" and the agent even consulted the senior supervisor. The answer was: even though we do not have the NOA for 2014, yet we have to present the income for year 2014, by supporting this figure with a copy of the final 2014 paystub. The agent mentioned that the government is aware that we don't yet have the NOA for 2014, but if they need to verify this info, they might contact you after the NOA for 2014 is available.
Not sure what is the best thing to do in this case, but I guess better provide more info than less...sorry if I confused you again :)

Hi
I am not sure if this answer can be helpful to some of you. I just thought of sharing this from CIC website. This is for year 2013 applications. But the rules may be same I guess...

"How can I show proof of income for 2013 in my application to sponsor a parent or grandparent?

The sponsor’s total income will be calculated on the basis of notices of assessment issued by the Canada Revenue Agency for each of the three consecutive taxation years before the application was submitted.

A sponsor applying on January 2, 2014 will be required to provide proof of income for 2010, 2011 and 2012, given that the notice of assessment for 2013 would not be available at the time of the application."

Anyone sponsoring parents in 2015 when the program reopens? Let's connect and help each other in this process.
By the way, I'm applying from Quebec. I started to prepare some of the forms and fill them up. Hopefully they don't update them last minute.

Did anyone else start with preparations?

I am new to this forum. I may be wrong in this assumption. The forms for the year 2015 will only be updated on the 31 St December 2014 - this is based on the question and answer from CIC website. Please correct me if I am wrong.

That confused me alright. My T4 from employment will be higher than gross NOA income again for 2014; so it's not straight forward for me to estimate. But you may be right. There is less risk in providing more info.

But the agent I talked to (second time) seemed like more knowledgeable. She brought the sponsorship package and went through each of my questions. When it was time for Q15; I asked her if I should put 2014 income although there is no CRA proof I can provide. She emphasized on the heading "last 3 taxation years" and suggested not to put any 2014 income. She also said that no one knows how long the processing will be and if CIC requires, they will ask for 2014 NOA later.

Just a quick question, what do they mean by "Indicate every other family member not included and dependent on you financially, whether they are living with you or not" do I have to mention our son ???

Hi everyone. I need your help.

I am currently in confusion of sponsoring my parents for supervisa. I need around 50k for my LICO for the family of 5. My LICO this year alone was just 38k . My big question here is that if I could also use the income of my wife through EI? She is currently maternity leave right now and if we sum it up, we might have the chance to reach the 50k. Please help me.

Yes - we need to submit the Sponsorship Application package ONLY. Parents will be contacted later for any other required forms for PR.

Yes - EI payments count as special benefits. Use the income as indicated in your wife's NOA to calculate the total Income.

Hi, thank you for your answer. I also have to ask you another question out here. I am also planning to apply my parents at the same time but I need them here one at a time. My sole purpose for them coming here is that I need them to help us look after my baby while me and my wife is out for work. Maybe switching them after a year or so???

It sounds like you are asking questions about supervisa, and not for PR sponsorship. Suggest you post your questions to the visitors section of the forum where there are more supervisa discussions.

Hi
I am planning to sponser my parents in 2015. I had a few questions about the process and was wondering if any of you could provide some answers.
1) The website states that applications received before Jan 2 , 2015 will be rejected. I am wondering does it mean that the applications have to be sent on Jan 2, 2015 or can they be sent earlier. If I use a courier say on Dec 31, so that it reaches on jan 2, can this application be still accepted

2) I am using my spouse as a co-sponser. The sponsorship form needs her citizenship/UCI number. However, the number on her citizenship certificate is alphanumberic B--------. When i put that number and go to form validate, it complains and tells that the number can only be numbers. What should i do in this situation

thanks
