Anyone have ideas of what the realistic time frame is from the sponsor being cleared to finalization of PR for sponsored parents?
@Sunil...if you happen to find this out....plz. dont forget to share it in the forum..i bet most of us don't know this...:- ;)

Nevertheless, after medical you can assume it is less than 12 months... 8)

@Rossei, In the spreadsheet that you have painstakingly prepared and maintained, would it be possible to put filters on the title row of timeline sheets...say for example if i want to check all the cases pertaining to a particular LVO, a filter would be able to sort out the other LVO entries in the spreadsheet.
Thanks Rossei, for your great work.
Not that I thought of it before, but you would have perhaps noticed that I made separate FILTER sheet for 2014 and 2016 SS. Unfortunately, I made the 2015 SS first and it wasn't planned well. Instead of making 1 main sheet (TIMELINE), I made 3 separate sheets. Now tt would be too many if I make 3 more just for filtering.

Coming back to your suggestion, I can't make the Header filterable as it has merged cells, conditional formatting, and few scripts at the background. If I unmerge now, I have to change everything. The other reason is that I wanted no control from end users for TIMELINE sheet (not even for header row).

Under this unforeseeable circumstance, if you prefer, I can make a FILTER sheet just for TIMELINE_STAGE3 sheet. A filter sheet would be an exact copy of a specific sheet w/o any unnecessary formatting.

Thanks, so I assume than that no-one is arranging up front medicals(if this is possible with thus type of application) as no-one is sure how long process may take. Best to wait on CIC to request it?

I think upfront medical is possible for PGP. In fact, few people from 2014 batch submitted medical done prior due to TRV/SV extension.

And it's correct that no one is sure about how long it may take as no one from 2015 batch got the final decision yet. Only one person from 2014 batch got PPR so far. But we can safely assume that 2015 applicants will get PR visa by mid-end of 2017 based on current backlogs (56,000).

Roughly 5,000 applications = 10,000 persons, so
56,000 persons = 10,000 (from 2014) + 10,000 (from 2015) + 20,000 (from 2016) + 16,000 (from 2009-11)
CIC only gives PR Visa under PGP to 20,000 per year.

It seems to me that the case officer was little concerned about your mom's previous PR application. Was there any accompanying family member with that application?

If you haven't received any additional document request, how come you attached your Father's death certificate with the original application? It wasn't in the document checklist. I'm saying this because my mom is also a widow and I never included my dad's death cert.

If you really haven't heard anything from CIC yet, I would recommend you to call the Call Centre. Make sure they didn't send any correspondence. Also ask for an update on your file.

Well I attached Death Certificate just as supporting document that my mother is a widow. In previous application for my mother only I applied under the Humanitarian Grounds which was not approved as they didn't found it to be valid enough reason to grant approval under humanitarian grounds

I have not received any communication for sure. Generally they mention all the communication in notes. I don't see any communication mentioned in their notes also.

Does anyone know what does Case pending partner check results mean .. ?

Has anyone ever sent an email to CIC Ottawa on this address: CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca
and if so, how long it took them to reply? Is it better to send a Case Specific Inquiry to get a faster response?

CIC only gives PR Visa under PGP to 20,000 per year.
The 20,000 visa quota on the opendata spreadsheet from CIC is indicated as "low end quota". That means CIC officers are encouraged to issue more than 20k and that at least 20k people in the PGP backlog should land in 2016. For the first quarter I believe they have only used up to 4k visas so there are still a lot to be issued this year. The backlog will be killed next year if they maintain admission level at around 20k or more. Take into account Canada wont likely meet the quota for skilled workers in 2016 due to the Express Entry not working right for our economy, things look pretty bright for Family Class both spouses and parents in the near future.

56k peopel backlog as of March 2016 is very manageable. I think that's why CPC-M has speed up significantly (turnaround time for sponsorship approval is now just a few months as seen in 2016 batch) so they can achieve real-time processing for PGP just like spouses. The only question left is how visas are allocated to each individual visa offices.

I just called CIC and they mentioned to me that no additional documents from my side but they are doing internal investigation with CRA to make sure we have not received any social assistance. Unfortunately these can take lot of time for CRA to respond.

I am not sure if my other friends in this group are waiting sponsorship notification, there case may be stuck in one of those internal investigation.

Regards,
Salil

It came to my knowledge that they do check with the provinces for social assistance receipts, because information from CRA isn't enough. Most provinces respond quickly unless there is a big number of files to be checked. It's random I guess.

In my case it was about a couple weeks. Agent told me they requested the info and then 2 weeks later the province responded but they only look at it again on the Bring Forward Date as set forth in the system. So give them 1-2 months if your file required internal referral I guess. If everything is clear they will approve right away and send it off to visa offices. CPC-M has been very efficient lately.

When you called, which prompts do you select and when agent comes on phone, what did you say? I have been waiting with no updates so I tried calling CIC a few times, but no agent is willing to take my file # and look into it. They just say wait to hear back from us or check e-cas. I also mentioned that I moved recently so I want to ensure no mail was missed but they just referred me to address update link. Can someone pls advise how can I initiate the convo to make them check my file and provide some info.
