Sponsoring Parents in 2015

Its all about priorities, if they can process 25000 refugees (much thorough checks needed in those countries) in a year, they sure can cut the backlog without cap. But I don't see any intention or motivation here.

First of all, so far, they have only process about 6000 out of the their backtracked 10K refugees by year end and this is liberal top priority. CIC still doesn't have the resources to process 10K by year end.

So what happens next, does anybody know?
If my application got into quota, will they charge my credit card right away (let's say today-tomorrow), or it will take days/weeks/months until they get to my package?

CIC will charge 90% of the CC any day from Jan 6 to Jan 31 (on first come first serve method). You can set up a CC alert (text or email) with your CC provider.

From those who got accepted into the Cap in 2015, are you able to log onto the website to check status? Whenever i go on and use my PR number, UCI or Application number that was on the letter they sent back in June, I just get a notice saying they don't recognize me:

"We were not able to identify you using the information you provided." - Have you all managed to get any further?

Also, I need to update them with new details regarding my financial status - new job etc. Does anyone know what the process is?

It's partly true for me. I cannot login with my UCI# as a sponsor although I could login few days back. Fortunately, it worked when I tried with my mom's name and app no. It appears that my mom's address has been set to her home address which is in Bangladesh. So, someone must have touched the files - something good I guess.

I think CIC introduced new Webform to make any changes in your personal circumstances. You can read details on After You Apply page.

Your parent (the applicant on the pgp forms) will have to complete the "use of representative" form adding you as their representative" and sign the document. They can either send it to you to forward to CIC-M office or mail it directly to CIC-M themselves.

It cannot be submitted online. It needs your parent's inked signature. If you submit the form IMM5476 with application number and cover letter, CIC can match it up with your parents application.

Mail it to the same address you sent the PGP package to:

Or courier it to 2 Robert Speck Parkway

CIC recently introduced WEBFORMS to contact them re: any changes after you apply.

Appoint or change a representative
Send us a completed and signed Use of a Representative form (IMM 5476) via this webform. In your request, include your:

Full name,
Date of birth,
Country of birth,
Application Number (if known), and
Relative’s Client ID Number (UCI) (if known).

You can upload the form after you have completed all the required fields.
