Just a small suggestion and I don't know what do you think,but maybe all known certified checks should be in different colour,since we will find out at later stage what's the status and now for them there is not expected CC charge

any idea when cert. cheques got cashed last year?

64 (62 accepted + 2 rejected) out of total 151 applicants in the spreadsheet got past the initial stage. That's more than 42% now. 68% of Jan 2 applicants got their CC charged till now.

Hi Gupta.rk!

Even they confirmed you that yours is a complete application, Have been your credit card charged or your certified cheque cashed? . My question is because for your time my app should be close than the yours ( arrived January 5th by 11 am, right?)

For those people that sent in their applications late (past Jan 5th - mine reached Jan 13th), just an FYI that I called CIC and at this point they can not even confirm if they have received the application. Just saving you a phone call to CIC! :

You are both missing the point. I am not asking to use OHIP. But you cannot buy regular medical insurance in Canada - and that is the issue. Also, how am I different from any other naturalized citizen whose non-Canadian born parents are already here and using healthcare and getting social security / pension after 10 years sponsorship - my taxes help support them as well. So why should I not also expect the same benefit? In the US, parents of citizens are cleared in less than 2 years and the medical evaluation is a breeze. Canada drags its feet because of healthcare costs - so change the rules so that it benefits everybody. At the very least, allow us to insure our own parents for regular medical costs.

Don't get me wrong. When your parents become a landed immigrant, maybe so many years later. You could pay for regular MSP for them. It is not one of the things you have to sponsor them for 20 years. If you read the rule clearly, only social assistance is billed to you. MSP is not a social assistance program.

Your application can be completed but it doesn't mean you are in the cap until you get a CC charge. There has been cases applications were returned despite being complete but couldn't get credit card charge to go through.

So unless you used a certified cheque and able to confirm with bank that it has been deposited will you know for sure that you are in the cap.

Screech, would you think the same about my case? My application was part of the Purolator batch that go there at "8.45am". It has been assessed complete, but I paid by certified cheque My partners application was in the same batch, and she got CC charged so did most others in the Purolator batch.

Thoughts?

Hi there!

How did they find your application? Did you provide them with an ID of the process? Did you provide them with the information of the sponsor or the sponsored?

I have called twice and they didn't provide me with meaningful information, I didn't have any ID for my app so I am wondering if they could have information with only my name or my parents name, I have said my name but there is not too many information available apparently!

How do you exactly ask them? I ve called so many times but they dont give me any info. They say they have no info available.
App reached Jan 2, 1:29 pm....I am so worried.

Are Jan 2nd people still waiting, who also think their application was complete?
Mine was delivered on Jan 2nd at 1:30pm per Purolator confirmation email . I call CIC everyday, and they don't have any notes on my file or information to give me. I am just too worried what happened to my app when they started charging Jan 5. I check CC obsessively but no luck yet.
Need lots of good wishes and praying for everyone here too.

I am still waiting, file rcved Jan 2nd 11:33 am by Fedex. Only thing heard the application rcved from CIC people. No other info.

I sent by purolator. They did not send me confirmation email until i called them. Email received from purolator at 4:46pm. Time delivered 13:29 signed by some Stephanie. I am going crazy here checking my application and cc. I called CIC so many times. they dont even go in system to check and outright say we dont have any info on parents app yet.
