We just filled out this one today. We put my wife down as the "Applicant". Hope that we did it right.... haha

Thanks! This one was kinda weird that they would request it, I DID fill this one out in my initial application, mind you the one they sent me looks a little different. But, I'll do it again :)

Yes, I believe so. We got ours at the Anyang Police Station.

I am sad to admit this, but dealing with the Korean government is a whole lot easier than dealing with the Canadian one. (the getting yelled at part aside.. haha) I can't believe how long it takes our government to do anything, and the 28 day standard of service is just inexcusable. Look how easy it is to get an F6 or F5 Visa here, which is essentially the same (especially the F5) to getting a PR card.
Sounds good. That is true about Korea in general. The most convenient country in the world in my opinion. A lot of that has to do with the population density. I will miss the same day car fixes (and cheap), internet dude coming same day, drivers license done in 4 weeks (common in ireland to wait months to get tested). Korea does a lot of things really really well.

Correct. Your wife is the applicant and you are the spouse.
2.) Intent: Lots of discussion about this one, so I think I'm all set. I'm going to provide everything I provided before, with the addition of a 'job offer' and a 'plane ticket.' (I didn't have these documents before as I hadn't even begun the process of job searching etc... Luckily, I was able to get a job while still being in Korea! Added to this is, since I'm still in Korea, I'll be getting everything sent to me via email, and then I'll be printing it out over here, is that cool (like sending my job offer / job info across, but it not being the Canadian original?) So, in total for this one, I'm going to send:

a.) courier company forms b.) 'plan of attack' essay written by myself c.) animal shipping correspondence d.) job offer e.) parent's accomodation support letter f.) plane ticket

Will this cover all my bases here?
You should be fine with that.

Question Guys:

There was no mention of when the landing must be completed by. I'm guessing it is 12 months from the re-medical.

On the COPR:

Heading: APPLICATION DETAILS:

Issued date: 2014/06/** Valid to: 2015/05/**

( this is exactly the same as 12 month duration of the re-medical )

Does this mean we have until May 2015 to do the landing?

Thanks guys for any clarification on this. I was expecting this to be clearly stated in the cover letter that was attached.
My wife received her COPR this morning as well! For everyone else in the process, this means roughly 3-4 months after resubmitting Criminal check and re-med we have COPR in hand, 18 months total from first fedex out to korea, to this.

For anyone living in Toronto area, ( with or without their spouse here yet!) i'll be trying to organize a meet and greet around Yonge and finch in September after my wife lands. For anyone who is interested, send me a message on the forum inbox. I think it would be nice for our spouses to know some people in a similar situation who can relate to challenges of immigrating to Canada.

Good luck everyone and hang in there!

Hey everyone, just wondering if there is some sort of time frame I can guage ourselves in the process... When Manila asks for some additional docs does this give us some sort of timescale? or... is it just random?

It's hard to say, though it seems that more recent applicants from Korea are getting processed faster than those who filed in the first half of 2013 after the Seoul visa office closed.

Hey Red Tape, I have this spreadsheet link here for Manila applicants:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiqQW9CdV8Q_dGNKMzZPT2laaVRvQm1NMGhkaERFUHc#gid=0

If you click the bottom tab "Total Time by Type" It shows the time frames for Married, Married With Children (Bundy ha), Congugal, Common-Law. Looks like, in terms of overall speed, being married with a child is indeed the fastest way of processing (like by a week or so) compared to the 2nd fastest (married with no children)

Hey guys, Manila requested additional docs like I stated before: Appendix A (pretty straight forward there, only 1 sheet), and "Intent"

I've included a ton of stuff (new stuff since my application first went out back in January):

1.) Sponsor's Relocation Strategy Outline (original & updated printed together) 5 pages
2.) Letter of Support (January 2014 original immigration copy) 1 page
*NEW*3.) Letter of Support (July 2014 updated copy) 1 page
*NEW*4.) Temporary Residence Information (Canada) 1 page -staying at my friends in Edmonton while I apartment hunt
*NEW*5.) Flight Payment Details & Itinerary 3 pages
*NEW*6.) Travel Insurance 2 pages
*NEW*7.) Letter of Resignation (South Korea) 1 page
8.) Online employment seeking strategies & examples (January 2014 original immigration copy) 1 page
*NEW*9.) Online Employment Job Description 1 page
*NEW*10.) Employment-seeking Resume 3 pages
*NEW*11.) Job Offer (Canada) 2 pages
*NEW*12.) Shipping Quote (in Korean) 1 page
13.) Pet Courier Quote & Correspondence 5 pages
*NEW*14.) Bank Statement (June 2014) 1 page

I think I possibly have overdone it, but when I first applied, I didn't have a job, a flight, even an official final destination in Canada lined up, we were just going to hijack my parent's basement (but I was lucky to get a job from here)

My question is, all the documents are signed, scanned and printed. Is this okay? I want to get my docs to Manila asap, without having to wait for employers, parents etc and then snail mail for the docs to arrive to Korea, only to be packaged together and sent to Manila (might not even make their 45 day deadline!) Anyone else had experience with this (as in not sending the originals, but rather sending the next best thing.. signatures, scanned, official letterheads, contact details, all legit!)

Thank you!

I think that from your list, the only documents that would be better in original form are docs number 3, 7, and 11. You could always send scanned/photocopied versions of those documents now and then forward the originals later.

I made photocopies of all my documents. I think you have enough evidence to shiw your intention to return. I would get it off asap so they can finalize ur application

Thanks everyone,

Lassssssssssst question before I leave!...

I'm arriving 2 months earlier than my wife (and our stuff that is being shipped by slow boat) Actually, the delivery guys from Onnury Green shipping (forgot who recommended them to me, but THANK YOU! they've been great, and quite affordable I think)

So anyways, Onnury guys are coming August 4th to pack, list our items for shipping. That's about 3 weeks after I get to Canada (my wife is taking care of the stuff here in Korea). What do I tell customs? or what do I fill out when i get home this week? ... Do I tell them stuff is coming to Canada... eventually...? or do I just tick the box that says I'm not bringing anything extra with me... since nothing has been shipped officially yet?

Thanks everyone!
