Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

My wife received her COPR this morning as well! For everyone else in the process, this means roughly 3-4 months after resubmitting Criminal check and re-med we have COPR in hand, 18 months total from first fedex out to korea, to this. For anyone living in Toronto area, ( with or without their...

You are completely right, my oversight, they didn't do anything for me until its over the published expected time period on CIC website.

Hey Red tape, what you are describing sounds identical as to what happened to me. Although i mentioned it a bit earlier, I figured I would explain what we did to fix the problem and move forward. 1) Contact a local MP and have them contact Ottawa to read the notes regarding your last police...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

This was the same request that was sent to me around march of this year. I think it is requested to cover the gap in time from when you applied, ( and your application is just sitting in a pile somewhere), to when they actually start processing it. Since they won't have any info regarding your...

For those of you who have landed and such, did you receive, ( or your spouse) a phone call prior to receiving the COPR. My wife is under the assumption that they call first to verify the address to mail it to, but i thought they just sent it out to whatever was on file without verifying. Thanks...

My wife has a Canadian bank account through TD, but she may have been able to do it because she was a student at the time. Of all the banks i would contact them first, as I bank with RBC and they weren't as helpful.

Thanks, i was hoping to hear that, we recently did re-med so i have a feeling to COPR shouldn't have too strict a timeline! I can already feel the stress melting away. Congrats to you too btw!

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

I've had the good fortune to finally have an E-Cas update, since end of Jan 2013 I haven't seen the darn thing change until this weekend when it now says "a decision has been made", which made my weekend the best one I can remember in months. I looked through some of the older posts for a rough...

To benchmark your expectations I received my wife's re-med on end of march ( just at the 14 month mark) and completed and couriered it back in the first week of April, and are still waiting to hear back regarding what is next, ( hopefully a passport request!) good luck!

My sentiments are the same as what bartjones mentioned, me and my wife also decided to not change any names until after the PR process was through. It seems that any trivial matter can bung up the process, so anything that isn't completely necessary to do now, ( by which I mean you can change...

Regarding contacting MP's..... I contacted my MP at around the 12-13 month mark, and they weren;t able to provide any useful assistance until it had been over the 14 month period. I believe they phoned ottawa and relayed the message that my application was still within the standard processing...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Just thought i would throw up a post regarding my wife's application, since i recieved your help on the forum here a few months ago and anyone else who is concerned about the length of their application. My wife's application is still being reviewed after sending in most recent request for...

re- spouse sponsorship manila visa office

Not to hurt your optimism, but i applied for the outland spousal PR at the end of Jan 2013, and have yet to receive a update from cic after the sponsor side was approved after 1 month. I have contacted them and no info to be released until 14 months apparently. Dig in, could be awhile.

ANYONE ELSE APPLYING FOR PR FROM KOREA?

I just saw your thread here, (i realize its a bit old), but i also orignally had mine sent to seoul and then forwarded to Manilla and also did not receive any info. I'm curious if since your last post if you have recieved your PR yet? I haven't received any official word from manilla or CIC...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

For anyone else reading this thread, here's an update after following your advice. I called CIC canada, and got no information. They advised my file was transferred to seoul back in january 2013, which i was aware of. I knew this was a longshot, but calling CIC when the app is out of country...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Thank you Rob and Bart, i checked this forum first thing this morning with the hopes someone had responded and i wasn't disappointed. I remember seeing a tutorial somewhere on how to do the request for docs, ( couldn't find it this morning however). I went to the link you posted and submitted a...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

First off, I'd like to thank everyone on the forum, the information provided on everyone else's experiences has been quite helpful. Especially looking at the updates for when papers are received, updated medicals, it helps me mentally benchmark what should be happening during the process. I...
