What I previously posted about the eligibility review is Note 1 dated April 4th. Also, from what I can gather, Quebec did not send off the CSQ to Manila. As such our file probably sat there collecting dust while Manila was waiting for the CSQ. When I contacted my MP, his assistant found out that the CSQ was missing. After which we forwarded a copy to our MP who in turn sent it to Manila and that is reflected in the latest notes. This is starting to freak me out. I can't believe we might have another 6 months to go.

Wow, that's remarkable. You would think when if Manila was missing an important document, they'd be the ones looking for it and not some MP's assistant.

PS I will recontact my MP one more time just to see. Also, for the notes, is it one month from the previous request date or one month from the date you received the report?

What I've been doing is submitting a new request on the same day I receive a set of notes, since it usually takes about 30 days to get them. The new set will be identical to the previous set except for an additional page or two showing what's happened since your last request.

Probably they thought "ahhhh Quebec will send it to us when it's ready". But basically it means a year was wasted (I got the CSQ in December 2012 however it was only entered in the GCMS notes early 2014). A whole year... And to think I might have to wait up to another 8-10 months.

Sigh.

Hey everyone,

I sent my additional documents in last week and Manila received them on June 2nd. The only additional documents requested was my plan to re-establish in Canada. Since Im here now I was able to send enough proof through receipts, Letter of employment, bank accounts, visa, etc...

I just checked my ecas today and it says:

"A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision."

Is this a good thing?

Yes! That means you should receive the COPR soon, since your medical is set to expire shortly!

Just checked with the wifes parents back in Korea and they got the COPR yesterday. Will be getting the papers shipped to us and hipefully we can do a flagpole next weekend!

Congrats! The wife got the same message a day or two before she received her CoPR! Your CoPR is in the mail!

We were never asked for anything since we already included scanned passport with original application. However some visa offices will also ask for a new scanned copy of passport close to end of process, to make sure nothing has changed.

Visa-exempt applicants do not need to send in actual passport. However sometimes an office that handles lots of visa-required applicants (like Manila) will send out a generic form letter asking for it. So if you do get a request for actual passport, I would send them a scanned copy only and an email saying you are visa-exempt so don't need a visa placed in passport.

COPR is always addressed directly to the applicant's name only.

Scanned copy of passport? I'm guessing that means scanning every single page.

Anyways, thanks!

Congratulations. Is that timeline in your profile correct? You filed your application in October 2013?

Ya October 2013. I was surprised to hear back this fast compared to everyone else. Her parents received the COPR and are sending it to us here in Calgary. Hopefully it gets here next week and we are planning to flagpole next weekend.

Hope everyone else has a speedy process as well.

We just did a photocopy of the bio/picture page, so just 1 page total. None of the stamp pages. If you get a request though, it should say what they want.

Wow, that was pretty fast compared to the rest of us. Congratulations again and maybe you can let us know how your flagpoling went.

Ok good ... I was in a panic a moment ago. I sent only the bio/picture along with my app.

Was curious why they would want a photocopy/scan because the bio page can't change. The stamp pages don't have anything special. I could see the need for sending in the passport for the non-visa exempt countries.

Congrats! Which province will you be doing the run across the border from? Would be great to hear about your experience with it.

Probably Carway. If I were him, I would loop back through Highway to the Sun and cross at Roosville. Such a beautiful drive. It is one of my favorites.

We just submitted it as part of our initial application, and were never asked to send in an update.
I believe some VOs request another photocopy close to the end of the process, just to ensure no info on passport has changed before they issue the COPR.
