I thought I read somewhere that CIC said 'don't send a CD or memory chip' they want the photos printed off.

Also, about the Salary, I am making some forms right now about my income, should I have it in Canadian dollars or Korean won? Especially my income for my last 12 moths of employment that I need my boss to sign.
I had my employment letter state Korean won. When you type the Sponsor's Questionnaire (IMM5540) Question 7 (income) I think the damn form is set up to only allow you to type an amount in dollars, so you'll have to convert it.

Dont't know anything about it. I noticed it be used by persons in other threads. Alternative to travel checks I think.

FYI Car Insurance - if you have a driving history in Korea a drivers abstract/insurance document will be useful to get a lower rate in Canada. I'm going to get it and have it translated and notarized to take with me.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to just wire transfer it all to your Canadian bank account or the account of someone you trust there.

This is a very, very good idea. I'm planning on doing this too for both me and my wife. You'll save yourself a bundle. In the next few weeks I'm going to get my brother to contact his insurance broker to see exactly what they need.

Has anyone found an amount that they require. For example the amount of money you earn yearly prior to going to Canada, the amount of money you have in your bank account or the total value of your assets?
There is NO minimum requirement for income. So i wouldn't worry about exact amount, if it's in won or CDN etc. The actual amount doesn't matter at all. What does matter is you provide an explanation how you intend to support your family when back in Canada. This could be as simple as explaining what kind of field you intend to get a job in.

What have the rest of you done to prove that you are planning to return? Would transferring my liquid assets to my Canadian bank help my cause?
In general, having ties to Canada helps. So this include simply having a Canadian savings/chequing account open.

Has anyone included a CD of images?
Do NOT do this, as CIC won't bother with any electronic device you send. Make sure you read the guides: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3907e.pdf
Photos must be loose; do not send them in binders, albums, frames or other such containers. Do not send video discs or video cassettes. Do not send musical greeeting cards or other similar documents containing electronic or mechanical devices.

Concerning Not Including N/A forms:

Some forms are N/A (i.e. use of representative, etc). I have noticed some posts stating not to include them. On the flipside, would the VO be left assuming that we forgot to complete those forms. I am going to include all forms in the sequential order and put N/A on all of them...that way the VO doesn't have to assume anything.
If a form is not required, DO NOT INCLUDE IT at all in the application.

Read the very first line of the checklist doc you will be sending: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5491E.pdf
Put an "X" in the box corresponding to the documents you are enclosing

So if you aren't including a form, just put N/A on the checklist beside it, and don't put an X in the box. For things like Use of a Representative, Stat Declaration of Common-Law, etc.... do NOT include these forms.

Things a Korean wife or Canadian (with child who has Canada Citizenship and Passport) should know or bring (documents, etc) when moving from Korea to Canada?

If you guys have learned of certain documentation (PR related or anything) please share. Thanks!

Here is the basic info from CIC: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-border.asp

One of the main issues you will have, is if your wife wants to transport some of her belongings to Canada from Korea. If you try to import her stuff here during the time you move to Canada but her application is still in progress, she would need to pay duties/custom/taxes etc on certain things. Most things you would take in a normal luggage bag as a visitor, you wouldn't need to specially declare (unless it was worth over a certain dollar value I believe).

However once she becomes an official PR, when she "lands" in Canada you have the option to give the immigration officer your B4/B4A forms (http://www.cbsa.gc.ca/publications/help-aide/topic-sujet/10-eng.html), and as a new PR she would be allowed to transport all her stuff here from Korea with no customs charges.

Other than that, there really isn't much else to consider. My fiancee moved here from Korea over 2 years ago, and the only document that's really essential is her passport. When she became a PR and "landed" here, she didn't have anything she was going to import so we didn't even bother with the B4 forms.

One thing to also keep in mind is that if you guys are all here in Canada during processing, the Manila office MAY ask you for additional information or documents. In our case, the former Seoul office asked for her Korean entry/exit certificate even though it wasn't listed in required documents. Luckily she has a sister living in Korea that was able to get this on her behalf, and send it directly to the Seoul VO.

For anyone with dependants who already have Canadian Citizenship. This will help you with IMM0008DEP & IMM008

The word "dependants" appears to be used loosely in both guides and forms. On the two above listed forms, when it states: list your dependant(s) here it really means list your dependants who are not already Canadian Citizens here.

The main sponsor and main principal applicant forms (the longer ones) use the word dependant in general. That's where you would list dependants who already have Canadian Citizenship.
Korea2Canada:
Thanks for clarifying. This is very helpful as I'm in the same situation. The guides are definitely very confusing. So to confirm we should only list our Canadian child on IMM5406 (principal applicant form), IMM5481, and IMM5540 (sponsor form).

Out of curiousity to those who are farther ahead in the process than I am, what's the best/cheapest way to send your money back home?

Also, I will be ending copies of my passport and citizenship card, do they need to be notorized too?

When my fiancee wants to transfer money back and forth with her family in Korea, they use Shinhan Bank (신한은행). They have branches here in Toronto, and it's only a small fee to send big sums of money between Shinhan Canada and Shinhan Korea.

No, regular photocopies are fine. The only things you need to get certified are:
- Translations
- Copies ONLY IF they're not in english/french

Entry/Exit Document for applicant: I think it was ROB that mentioned this document. It is not listed as a required document. Why is it needed? Where did you get it? What is the name of it?

Would the GU have this?
