If I were just starting an application:seoulcanada said:Hey guys,
My wife is in seoul and I'm giving her directions on what to do to get the sponsor application ready. I've given her the forms to fill out and now I need to go through everything else.
This thread is pretty large and I"ve read chunks of it, but its hard to go through every single post...is there one post that has all the info (tips and tricks) put into one> That would be helpful for everyone coming to this thread.
Thanks to Rob, I got this list (and removed stuff specific to his application Does this seem like a complete list of what all the apps will have to include (from korea)?
Thanks to another post, I got some translations of the document names
I'm puzzled as to where to send my wife to get the entry/exit.
Also is the "basic information" in the second quote the same as the "certificate of individual identification" in the first quote?
There was talk about not being able to get "Chaejeok DeungBon (Old (deleted) Family Census Register)"...has that been settled? Some said you can, some said they couldn't get it.
I'm getting all turned around reading these terms
I would go through this thread cut and paste all the tips into one doc. Then use it as an unofficial guide. Don't forget to use the country specific application guide. These get updated so use the most recent. That guide will list the required Korean docs.
There is the old deleted ( but existing ) family doc. You don't need the exit entry doc unless it is requested. It can be got online for 1,000₩. My wife navered it.
Find a translater who is connected with a lawyers office for translations/notarizations.
Tip:
I got one of those large file folders with plastic sleeves on it. I arranged all of my forms and docs according to the doc. checklists. For any outstanding doc. I put an A4 in the sleeve with name and number of doc. Also, put a sticky on each doc. with doc. checklist number on it. It was useful and suggested in this thread buy Rob and Bart.
Pay close attention to the Korean CBC. There is a sample on this thread.
