Does received mean the date the courier delivered it or the AOR date?

Neither.

It means that CIC has started process files submitted on that date.

I'm referring to the word received in general. Does received mean the date the courier delivered it or when the AOR is issued.

OK I understand.

My guess would be the AOR date. There is no official recognition of when a file is actually delivered.

Also to add, when we log into ecas and click on "Application Received", it says: We received your application for permanent residence on October 2, 2012 (which in my case is my AOR date).

I'm pretty sure this is the date your application was actually delivered to CPC-M, or somewhere close to it.

We mailed our app to CPC-M on July 13. We received AOR around a month later on Aug 18. However all e-cas and email communications continually referred to July 16 as the date they received the application... so pretty much matches to the date CPC-M would have first received the package from courier.

When the courier delivers the application, CPC-M probably puts a date stamp on it within a day and the application goes into the waiting list and sits is a big pile waiting to be opened. So when they eventually start the processing, they will refer back to the actual delivery date.

So if it's saying they are working on apps from April 15th now, that would be the apps the courier delivered around that day. Basically a 1 month wait from when you send the app.

I'm pretty sure this is correct. It's the date the application package was delivered by the courier.

Got our forms off 2 weeks ago!!! Just found out the wife is pregnant...

With a potential 14 week processing time and no medical coverage for the wife in Canada until 3 months after she gets her permanent residency...all I have to say is this kind of sucks.

As the father of a Canadian in in the belly of a Korean it just seems dumb. Any health care my wife gets will be out of my pocket to pay for our child...who is Canadian. Wish I had wicked lawyer skills. I'd figure out a way to argue that the doctors were working for our child or at least that the costs should be retroactively repaid to me once the application is accepted.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Hyundai: 1.2 million for 3 cubic meters. So basically 400,000 for a cubic meter with a minimum of 3 cubic meters.

Nothing yet from Hanjin, but I have some friends who have used them and use them exclusively. I haven't yet.

This doesn't include packing, which from what I've heard should be undertaken by a professional.

It should be noted that Korea Post will ship 20kg for about 40,000 Won.

Hi, Congrats!

1) Alberta provides medical coverage without a waiting period.

2) 1.2 for hyundai shipping is the lowest i've heard of so far. Thanks for the info. I'll look into it.

One option is to have the baby in Korea. Then get Canadian citizenship for the baby. She's 2 weeks pregnant and the PR process is upto 14 months. Maybe you already have plans to wait for PR inland?

Actually, we're moving to BC. I've thought about Alberta many times, but prefer to be as close to the mountains as possible without making the wife feel like she's actually in a mountain town. I have skier blood I desperately wish to pass on to my boy (and now future child).

In BC we can apply for a Medical Service Plan which she can get (I sponsor her) as a permanent resident in waiting. Only draw back is a 3 month wait time from the day I declare residency in BC. So we're planning to have the little one in BC. The first three months in BC will be a bit scary though. I'll have to find additional medical insurance or something.
