Our biggest dilemma now is hubby not being able to leave until his work puts through the resignation...this can take up to 6 MONTHS!!! Oh and can't even submit the letter now...it has to be in June only!!!! We are so frustrated! If it goes to the end of the 6 months that's two months shy of the medical expiry. Which means visa expiry and starting all over again.

Oh I pray for you guys to have a speedy resolution.

Thinking about everyone and saying prayers.

Talking to H right now about E not having brought the receipt to the embassy yet. He really needs to email them to request a meeting so that he can bring that receipt. They will call him or reply in email. We always got answers from them; usually takes a couple of days.
Wishing you luck HUGZ

Well I tried talking to him again tonight about it. But he told me that he spoke with the secretary at the Dr's office and she confirmed that the Dr would notify the embassy by faxing the letter he got from the embassy.

He asked me to wait till next week and he would go again to the Dr and talk to him. But I emailed the embassy just for the fun of it to see if they would respond. I asked them if my husband should bring the receipt to the embassy. Now I will wait and see what happens.

I am also waiting for him to fax me the form I need to allow the MP's office to make an inquiry on our behalf. He will do that tomorrow or Thurs and I can get that angle covered too.

16 months now since I have been able to hold my husbands hand. :( I miss him so much.

Hi, someone on here asked about a good immigration lawyer that does appeals. I had a great lawyer here's his website. He was honest and fair.

FatimZahra, no offense but if your husband has a visa stamped in his passport to come to Canada, why the h&#@ would he care about his job in Morocco?? My advice is to buy a ticket, kiss the friends and family goodbye and get on a plane.

Agreed. 6 months' notice? Rubbish. I gave 30 days' notice as required, and quite honestly it's because I like my current employer so I will comply with the condition. Had it been my previous employer, I would have given them summary notice and not come back the next day, much like I did when I left the job. He can work until his next pay day, and then simply leave. I'm sure they will figure out he's not coming back in a day or two!

Not that easy when leaving Morocco. Just to visit here he needs a letter from his work to give the permission. Yes it sounds crazy but that's the Moroccan government for you.

This is how it works in Morocco when you work for the school board: the only time you can resign is the month of June. Then a committee gets together and takes up to 6 months to decide. Because WOW they neglected to tell him that he is bound to them for 8years! Ya, nice of the government to hide that isn't it?? SO now if he walks out the door he will be stopped at the airport. And chances of being here will be even slimmer. So he felt to come here for the summer months would be a good idea then at least he will have touched down here. Well guess what? Again the government would have to give him a permission letter to leave for a few months. Because once again without some kind of letter from his government job he won't get out of that airport.

So rubbish? Hmm I think not. Yes I am angry at the world right now.

I am really praying for you my friend. I just cannot imagine what you are going through right now. But on the other hand I feel you have a very strong case to make and that you will be successful in the end.

I am actually going to go get back on some meds ... I just don't think I can continue like this. I have lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks. I actually have to force myself to eat in order just to say I had some thing. It makes me so nauseas but I know I have to have something.

I have some days off coming up just to have a mental break as well. Unfortunately I don't know how much of a mental break it will be considering I have planned 5 days of day trips with my daughter and only 3 days of rest...LOL

I don't even know what to say to encourage you really... because I know we are all in the same boat and yet all vastly different. I do honestly feel that you have a lot of support and evidence to prove your case and I am confident of your approval. Keep strong... we are all here rooting for you.

Thank you so much my friend! That is very admirable of you to pray for me as your own cup is filled with anxiety! Thank you for the encouragement! I know it is hard to say something as all feel empty, worried and anxious. I believe you regarding eating disorders. I am not often hungry and I don't cook complete meals anymore. I just eat a bite here and there when I feel like it. I don't force myself to eat. Many times I skip a meal. I might be losing weight but I know that I will eat plenty of food this summer as my husband is a great cook :)

Sorry to hear you have not held your husband's hand in so long... :(

I booked my flight last night! I am leaving on June 27 with a layover in Frankfurt. Still thinking of you! I am impatient to read your good news on this forum. I often check to see if there is any developments.

OMG! I am so sorry for you! Your husband is kind of trapped! What a nightmare! I understand your anger.

I meant the government's policy is rubbish, not your post. I understand your anger, that's utterly unbelievable you have to deal with something like that. 8 months to make a decision?! And they claim Jamaicans are slow at getting things done! ::)
