A lawyer was out of the question as it was too expensive for me. I hired an immigration consultant. We filed the notice of appeal first week of January 2012 and in April we got phone call to let us know our full hearing would take place on June 21st. You can read all my past posts to have an idea of what I have been through and also you can read my most recent posts addressed to Dani (her husband in Morocco was denied visa last October) that contain some very good advices and recommendations.cher43 said:Hi Habibti thank you for your kind words yes i would love for you to give me help i am lost . did you have a lawyer? and did it take long time
Yes, it is cheaper. A lawyer could cost between $5000 and $7000. I paid $3000 for a consultant.cher43 said:hi Habibti
So a consultant is much cheaper? do you go into court alone or do they go with you?
That's funny! I was thinking to ask you the same thing earlier today! My husband submitted in person all the required documents on November 16. If by December 14 (one month later) we don't hear anything I will send an email to the visa office hoping they will answer it. I would like to plan my Christmas vacation! I don't know if my husband can be here during my 2 weeks break! If not, I am going to visit my friend in Calgary.JenniYous said:Well all of our papers have been submitted, and according to the Moroccan post, the visa office should have received them on friday. Now we have to wait...I'm just wondering how long! The interview is done and we have finished the supplementary paperwork that they have requested...does anyone have any ideas when we will get a response?
Habibti - any news on your appeal?
Average fee for an appeal is $5000 whether you hire a consultant or a lawyer. Habibti got a deal.Habibti said:Yes, it is cheaper. A lawyer could cost between $5000 and $7000. I paid $3000 for a consultant.
You could be selected for an ADR or a full hearing. The consultant comes with you in court. As I mentioned before, read all my previous posts as they contain lots of information.
1. He needs to do the medical before you send in the application as you need the receipt to send with the application.jamali said:Hello, I hope everyone is doing well. I am hoping that someone here can help me or point me in the right direction.
I will be submitting my application to sponsor my Moroccan husband in the beginning of February. My question is: when does my husband do his medicals? does he do it before the application?
My other question is: would it be my husband who would submits the results or would it be the doctor? If he is the one to submit the results, how long does it take for the results to come in? Should he be doing the medical in January?
Thanks in advance for any response. I really do appreciate any help or any direction anyone can give me. Good luck to everyone who is waiting to be reunited with their loved one.
You will need your marriage certificate translated into French but you will also need the arabic one, his police check, the medical receipt... I think there was one other paper I just can't think of it at the moment. I will have to go through my files again to be sure. As well...make sure you go through his application very thoroughly and make sure he has signed all applicable places. You will need his photos...there are instructions for the photographer in the application as to dimensions.jamali said:Thank you Dair, yes this definitely helps.
Since I will be visiting him in January, is there something I must absolutely get from him? I'm just afraid that I would miss something that we need for the application, then get home only to realize what it is that we forgot ... lol
No worries , I hope I have covered everything for you. I could not find anything else last night but I was in a rush....maybe someone else here will know if there is anything more than I mentioned.jamali said:ok great, will definitely take note of this ... thanks again for your help
