I am a Canadian Citizen and I am married to a Guynese Citizen. We have a child together. My husband is working in the Cayman Islands and I want to StartSponsorship for him to migrate to Canada. I am currently unemployed and would like to know if I can still sponsor. I am also thinking to sponsor from outside of Canada, meaning I will move to the island with our baby to be with my husband, until his papers are finish processing, then we will move back to Canada. I'mnot sure how that will work. Anyone with knowledge on these 2 topics please advice. Also, Can we request Jamaica for the processing office? Thanks

So the baby is Canadian citizen right? (Just to be clear.) Yes, you certainly can do so, there is no "income" requirement to sponsor your spouse. If you move there, AND you tell them that, you will have to PROVE that you intend on settling in Canada. How about apply from here . . . and if you happen to be on (ahem) vacation when your husband's papers finalize, so be it!

As a citizen, you may sponsor your spouse while living outside Canada, but part of your responsibility in that case will be to prove that you will be re-settling in Canada when your spouse is approved for PR.

If your husband was initially admitted to the Caymans for at least a year, then you may select KG as the processing office. If he was admitted as a visitor, then his application must go through POS, Trinidad. It may still go through POS, if CIC decides that the integrity of the process can only be served by processing his application there, but that will be their decision.
