I am not an expert but it seems like the basic is that sponsor should be resident of Canada and qubec ( source: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...sponsor-parents-grandparents/eligibility.html).

If you commute and keep your residence in Canada, you are eligible.

Other than residency you should be 18 years older and have to show funds. The funds are usually shown through the Tax assessment.

No matter where your income is coming from, while doing tax returns, you are paying federal tax, Quebec tax returns and city tax return. As long as you are meeting minimum income and have filed the income tax which meets the criteria. I think you should be good to go.

Thanks for posting. It is common wisdom that these things largely rely on resident status and associated tax filing compliance than personal preferences or emotions of people. Don't bother about irrelevant posts that are purely meant for dissuading people than helping them. Someone keeps posting their wishful thinking as facts without any proof.

Incorrect. To apply the income must be from a Canadian source.
