SOWP 2016 applicants

Hi I applied for SOWP and it got rejected stating reason as
" You have not demonstrated that you come within the exceptions under section 186 of the
Regulations exempting you from the requirement to obtain a work permit or that your
employment in Canada comes within the exceptions to section 203 of the Regulations. As a
result, your offer of employment must be the subject of an economic effect determination before
a work permit can be issued to you. Your employer in Canada should contact the local office of
Service Canada to begin this process."
Im not understanding what to do know Please reply ASAP I dint und the reason they specified.

We just got refusal too for the 2nd time. Which country did you apply? And you can see the reason of refusal in the next page with the box in check.
This is really frustrating knowing that we put everything that we can think of.
I don't know if its because of recession now that they dont approve SOWP recently

Any input guys? Anybody got refusal/approval?

If they don't approve due to recession, they should temporarily block this SOWP route so that we don't waste their time and our time and money.

U applied for sowp as spouse of student or worker?

I didn't got my outcome yet but scared like anything.

What were they reasons mentioned in your two attempts?

They should actually issue a visa for a spouse with the right to work considering the spouse's status.

It is unfair that they are complicating the process by telling it's open work permit and reject.

Separating a family is another unfair thing. They should be lenient in this case of family reunion.

By god's grace I have finally received my SOWP approval after a very long wait & previous 3 visitor visa refusals.

Application submitted - 18th Dec,15 ( @ VFS Bangalore with upfront medicals & passport)
Approval email received - 19th Jan,16
Passport - currently dispatched

My request to everyone planning their move to Canada... Dream BIG & Don't give up on your dreams under any circumstance. Ensure that your application is extremely strong with all relevant papers. Incase of prior refusals, seek CAIPS/GCMS notes before applying again.

I am a Guatemalan citizen. My spouse is US citizen who finished a PHD recently in McGill University in Montreal. We got all documents needed to get both PDWP and SWOP. I´ve been living in Guatemala, so I am visiting her frequently using my Visitor visa. My question is: Is it possible to apply for a SOWP inside Canada with my visitor Visa??

I am applying SOWP for my spouse who is currently in Bangalore. The process will be taken care of an attorney here in Canada? How long does the process take if the application is submitted in Canada for a person who is staying in Bangalore? Also, meanwhile I am planning to invite my dad here to Canada on a visitor's visa. Would my dads process interupt my husband's process like delaying his arrival or refusal of his visa? Please help.
