Mandie,
My intention is not to settle in these three places, I was thinking about putting one among these as preferred location in my application.
I hope we can change the preferred location, if later there is any need.
Yes u can change ur destination/land anywhere in Canada besides Quebec.

Also can someone from the forum tell me whether the forms has to be filled using block letters or can we do the normal way, first letter caps and the rest small letter?
I have kept it normal, as I haven't seen instructed anywhere to type in caps.

My child is smiling in her photo, though her mouth is closed. I tried several times, but all the photos she keeps on smiling. can this photo be used, I have seen on the website, that photos with "non expression".

Dear Shami,
1.As FSWs, we are not obliged to settle in the province indicated on our application form. We can move to where job prospects are good.
2.The instructions is to type or print in BLACK INK. Thus, it does not matter if it is in caps or otherwise so far as use caps for first letters of nouns (eg your name, place, organisation etc)
3.for your child's photos, I am not sure if you could be penalised for her smiling so far as her teeth is not showing. as per the instructions,
The photos must:
•show a full front view of the person's head and shoulders showing full face centered in the middle of the photograph;
•have a plain white background;
•be identical (black and white or colour) produced from the same untouched negative, or exposed simultaneously by a split-image or multi-lens camera.
The photos must:
•measure between 25 mm and 30 mm (1” and 1 1/5”) from chin to crown;
•have a 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8” x 1 3/4”) finished size.

Hope this helps,
Mandie
Quick & Comprehensive reply, +1 for U Mandie!!!

Hello All,

This thread is indeed a very good idea.

I am a social worker by education and by profession. I have applied under NOC 4152 and my VO is New Delhi.

Application Date: 1st October 2010
First Correspondence from CIC (with file number & request to submit General IELTS score as I had submitted Academic): 21 January 2011
Submitted Academic IELTS: 3rd March 2011
PER from CIC: 8th March 2011
Current E-CAS status: Received by VO
Above status since: 4th April 2011
2nd AOR from VO: 18th April 2011, dated 7th April 2011

Neither the e-cas status has changed over such a long time and nor have we heard anything from the VO. I don't know what's happening when people who applied around my time or even later have started receiving requests for medicals!!!

Any speculations from anyone? My husband and I are quite anxious over the whole thing!

Best,

BhaktiUjjwal

Dear Nashe,

she definitely looks cuter while smiling and she knows it that's y she can't help it.

That was really sweet of you.

Even I have'nt seen anything specific about filling the forms in block letters, I am planning to send the application tomorrow, so having lots of last minute doubts and confusions.

I am presenlty doing MSW, so a bit worried about Social Work being regulated profession in other provinces.

Dear BhaktiUjjwal

Welcome to the thread, :D
There might be a slight delay in processing, coz of setting new priority list or new points system (if any), as per my opinion, in May & June, 2011.
As far as ur anxiety is concerned, u should not worry at all. Ur timeline is quite normal and U will get any reply soon.

Cheers

Nashe

Thanks Nashe_31! That's really reassuring!

So do you mean we could hear around June or so???

Thanks Shami,
Good luck for ur Application, I have also planned to send my app tomorrow, Inshallah and need ur prayers, WISH ME GOODLUCK GUYS!! ;D

No need to worry at all,

If u are concerned about ur education evaluation to get job as a SW in regulated territories, coz u will hopefully finish ur MSW in the meanwhile. Once u will enter Canada, u can get ur degree of MSW evaluated and start finding work.

If u are worried about ur credentials evaluation to get PR as a SW, (coz u have a background of commerce studies) just give it a whirl coz u have decided now to apply. CIC have asked for experience in SW and for ur reference and info our thread member, Darwaish has also gotten his application processed thoroughly with Masters in International affairs, he is waiting for his medicals, and I wish him good look for the remaining process.

I hope I have made u smile like ur kid now :P.

Cheers,

Nashe.

This example should allay the fears of some applicants who were worried that they did not have a social work degree..

Dear BhaktiUjjwal,
I am not sure, or nobody else can assure u about this.
What i know is ur timeline is fine till now, and u should thank GOD, for the already done process.
Life is too short to be worried about anything, just put ur maximum efforts in any process and pray to GOD for making ur efforts fruitful!

Regards,

Nashe
