I can tell you for sure that it is the duties performed as per the Ministerial instructions which matter...however for some professions like social work, you need a degree in either BSW or MSW. I can't give you a concrete answer on this.
It has been mentioned somewhere on this thread that someone with Master of International Affairs had his application processed as a social worker. So you might want to give it a go and see what happens. Good luck!

but i still need clearification for my points as i didnt do 4 years bachelor rather i did two years bachelor with political science after F.A followed by two years master. i did my 2nd master after two years, so plz facilitate me now whether 22 or 25 points am i gonna get?

Fatima,
Submitting med is dependent on your VO, some require it with your initial application, others require it later. However IELTS is a MUST for all initial applications. Which country are u currently residing? Please check the link below for visa office specific instruction. You should select your country where your application will be processed. Eg, select New Delhi if in India. Be also advised that one visa office may be serving different surrounding countries. Also if from Pakistan, u r advised to follow London visa instructions. Input the corresponding years on the educational levels below and see how many years you get in total. anything after university (like masters or PhD) will come under Trade school or other post sec edu. so if u did 2 yrs undergrad, the corresponding level is university/college and the 2 years masters will be the post sec edu. hope this makes sense.

If u have completed graduation 02 years, masters 02 years u will get 22 marks
If u have completed graduation 03 years, masters 02 years u will get 25 marks
If u have completed graduation 02 years, masters 02 years, and another masters 02 years, i hope u will get 25 marks Seniors may guide u further!

Dear Fatima 2011, I think u are from Pakistan. If yes, ur visa office will be London.
U will not have to submit medicals initially.

Submitt complete Application forms, after signing and mentioning dates, where applicable.
Submitt Ielts General's result, (not older then 02 years)
Submitt Translated photocopies of CNICs
Birth Certificates
Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
Wedding Photographs (if applicable)
Childrens Information (if applicable)
Passport Copies
Proof of relationship in Canada (if applicable)
Educational Docs
Work Experience Docs
Arranger Employment proof (if applicable)
Proof of funds altleast 10,00,000 Rs for single applicant & 1240000 Rs. for a couple
Police clearance certificates,
04 pics for each member

Please tell me if u need to ask any other thing, i would request u to go through the EG7 guide, for FSW applicants any u will feel far informed after doing so.

Dear Zeenat, It is not that we have to get our credentials evaluated for the sake of getting PR, rather it will increase the worth of ur application, as well as help u finding the job as a Social worker in Canada. As u know, Social work is a regulated occupation in all the provinces of Canada except a couple of provinces at the northwest territories.
You can even get it evaluated once u get ur PR, before u enter Canada.

helo everyone. do u have any number in London visa office where i can call and request them for my file to be return. i called on the number given in website. she said that immigration office cannot take any call ..only emails. .i m such unfortunate for applying n submitting each n everything to visa office. i may be in the lucky list of April 2011. now i will have to wait for june 2011.reply

Dear Nashe & Mandie,
You people are god sent, truly managed to make me smile non stop, thanks to both of you.
True, now that I have decided to file the application, no point in worrying about my educational background. I have my application package ready since last week (always checking the website for any changes in the forms), just waiting for the property valuation paper from the local authority, which I should have in my hands by tomorrow noon ( keeping my fingers crossed). Once I get the valuation report the application should be in the courier.
Nashe, Congrats on your IELTS Score, if we manage to send the courier tomorrow, we both will somewhat share the same timeline, though different VO.
I had an arrear paper for MSW, which I appeared yesterday, by October my results will be out and hopefully by that time I should get a green signal from the CIO.
Wish you guys luck with your application, inshallah........everything will work out positive for you.
BTW, should i enclose a covering letter stating myself not being Social Work graduate, and the degree not being mandatory in my country for practicing social work, or can i simply send the application package with the necessary documents.

If u have completed graduation 02 years, masters 02 years u will get 22 marks

To get 22 points, you need 'Two or more university degrees at the Bachelor's level AND at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study'. Fatima has a Masters degree as well so the best option is to count the overal years in education. If the total yrs in education is at least 17 yrs, the fact that she has masters will guarantee her 25 points. I think she is better off adding all the yrs instead of focusing on whether or not she did 2/3/4 yrs Bechelors. Mind you, for 22 points, Fatima, must have had only 16 years full time education. There is no specification of how many yrs at Bachelors level. So I think as far as Fatima has at least 17 yrs total education (including the 2 yrs MA) she will get the 25 points

Thanks Mandie & Agreed , its quite complicated, She hasnt got 17 years of education, she has 02 different masters, i dont know how the VO will deal with it, and for 22 points u need to have 02 university degrees and atleast 15 years of education.
In pakistan 02 years graduation degree is considered as university degree and so as masters of 02 years.

I think she should assume her points to be 20 instead of 25 as a safe side, and try to focus on other options to equal her points to 67.

How many years at:
1. Primary?
2. High School?
3.University?
4.Masters?
If she inputs the years here, she will get the total years and subsequently the points she can claim
