Dear Nashe & Mandie,

Yes, I managed to send the application yesterday . I am definitely relieved after sending the application, but then again and again I keep asking myself did I miss something, a signature or something else.......ultimately I try to calm myself thinking anyhow the application is sent and even if i missed out on anything, nothing can be done at this point of time.

Sorry, guys I was not able to log on to the forum to post about sending the application. Preparing the application kept me so busy, that I had lots of other things pending which needed to be looked into.

What about you Nashe, have you sent the application?

Thanks to you both for clearing my doubts, which helped me to send the application without much delay.

Wish you people luck with your applications, for sure we all need loads and loads of luck to see us through this journey.

Dear Shami, Yes i have sent it yesterday.
I could have sent my application on 22 May, 2011 but got late as i couldnt arrange bank draft.
and that is a full day story how did it get it. I got entered in a bank at 9.30 am and got my BD at 6.00 pm in the evening, the online system of that bank stopped working after my amount for BD was submitted there...... :'(
I had no choice but to wait there for the solution of the problem that was supposed to be fixed in a matter of 30 minutes, but All is well that ends well, so Thank GOD i got the BD issued, and sent it through courier after a couple of hours...
Lets hope for the best...

Great Nashe, we both sent the application on the same day. Sorry to hear that you got delayed 'cause of the draft, anyway by the grace of god, you got everything sorted out and finally the application is on the way to CIO. So here we start our wait for a positive reply.

Mandie, your application has been sent on 19th, have it reached the CIO or is it still in transit?

I agree with you mandie, this is really a stressful journey, but with support from people like you we should be able to sail it smoothly.

Hello all,
I have been following this thread for sometime and I wanted to introduce myself as I intend on submitting my application in June. I am a social worker and my VO will be Buffalo, I'm really happy that there are other social workers that have applied or are going to apply. I am actually cutting my submission to CIO really close as I won't have all the documentation until near the end of June so I will have to say lots of prayers that I will get it to the CIO in time. Hopefully though social work will still be on the list of occupations, so it won't matter. I agree that the application process and getting all the documentation is a little stressful. Good luck to all and hopefully our applications are process and approved with no problems.

Welcome to the family! What are the documents left to gather? Have you already done your IELTS? I am asking this cos new NOCs are coming out in July (I think) and no one knows if social work is gonna be on the list. So if u can expediate your docs collection. Welcome once again!

Yes, that's the fly in the ointment the IELTS I wish I could expediate it. That is the only thing I have left to do and unfortunately I couldn't do it any earlier. But I should be able to send off my application with about a week left in June. I know I am cutting it so close, but I am going to send if Fedex or UPS international express which should take a few days, save any delays in customs etc, as I've contacted them already. So I do hope it won't problem, but I am not going to stress out over it. But I am hoping that social worker will still be on the list for myself and others.

Its a indeed very useful and comprehensive guidance and information for me andf for all going through this process. by totaling my years of education i think they become 16 years of education(22 i think) if doest count the 2nd master degree. with this my points becomes 66. so can u plz suggest me should i submitt my file at this stage in june or should i revise my ilets which would definitly mean delay in this process of submitting application, and the NOC may fear be changed

Dear Fatima, In my opinion, it will not be a good idea to submit ur app, with 66 points, and the only way that i can see is to improve ur Ielts band, u can improve a lot by focusing on Speaking, & Writing. What I suggest is….

Get urself registered for the upcoming Ielts test, it may be in the beginning of June, try hard for it, if u couldn’t have seat in ur city’s testing centre, apply from the nearby city,
After getting registered practice ur Speaking, Writing & Listening, u should have got Ielts material for idea.
If u can manage it till 20th of june, and there are no new ministerial Instructions, send it through a courier service reliable for its quickness.
Just have faith in ur potentials and GOD’s will.

I totally agree with Nashe...when it comes to increasing your points for the application, the only thing you can really change without much hassle is the IELTS (ie, if u haven't already got the full 16 points). So please quickly get yourself registered and improve upon it.
Aim at getting at least 6.5 band score for all the components, which will give u enough points to qualify for the FSW.
