Hello everyone,

Could you give me a favor?

I want to apply for NOC 4152. I have 6 years of working experiences in INGO and have done a job with the duties as the same as duties of a social worker in CIC website. However, I don't have any degrees or certificates in social work (I graduated from Trade University). Therefore, I am wonder if I am qualified to apply NOC 4152 or not? Please advise me.

Sorry for disturb you all. However, I have got the answer by go through all of these thread. I was known that I can apply NOC 4152 when I don't have degrees or certificates on social work.

However, the organization I worked before was Pearl S. Buck International (PSBI), a services provider (as it has adoption services).

Although in my country, PSBI is obsolutely an INGO. I worked for the "Inclusive Education for the Hearing Impaired and Deaf Children" and my job was exact the same as duties of NOC 4152, but someone said to me that because it is a services provider, I am not qualified to apply NOC 4152 even I do exact the same job as a social worker. Is this true?

Anyone can help me with this? Thank you very much and wishing you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Hi you can apply so far as you can show proof that you have performed the said duties (original letter on organisation's letter head, contract, payslps). Also bear in mind you need to score 67 points in order to qualify. Level of education is important in contributing to the overall points, not to mention IELTS band score. You can apply without a social work degree but the experience letter needs to be 'strong'. Good luck.

My IELTS score is 6.5 (equal to 12 points of English based on CIC criteria) and my job is about 80% the same as duties in NOC 4152.

However, my concern is if the organization I worked is services provider, not social organization. Is it eligible or not?

Mandie, pls help me to search google the name of my organization (PSBI) and see if any chances for me?

I fail to see where the problem is. You are only eligible if you can provide reference for having performed the duties of a social worker as per those listed. Pls go ahead and apply if you meet the 67 points. Your org won't pose any problem.
