Quick question. When my husband and I spent time apart we skyped alot and that is noted in our application. Anyways during that time I never thought to do screen shots of us skyping!! So I am unable to provide that in the application. Adivce???

I sent my package in yesterday which included conversation from 2013 - current. ( big bunch)
we personal didn't use Skype, we used other messengers like whats app, bbm, any other type of messengers , emails etc.
so if you are using any other means of communications other than Skype I would advise you to sent the chats to your email and print them off.

I work in an office so I was lucky to print my chats everyday from my desk.

If you cant provide chat information in your package you should sent an explanation letter stating why.
any other communications like; letters, cards, notes, etc. can also be submitted as proof of relationship/supporting documents.

hi,

my wife and I are in a similar situation. No Skype logs / conversations. We basically tried to compensate by adding other relevant information that proved that we were continuously in touch such has e-mails, letters and cards sent to each other, gifts, etc. You could perhaps also attach some whatssapp, viber, or sms msgs if available instead? What we also did was printout phone records from every month since we've known each other and highlighted our numbers to show that we've always stayed in touch.

Now because we did use skype alot of the times like I said I am unable to provide that information as I did not take screen shots or anything like that. Should I just write a letter stating why I am unable to provide the skype conversation proof?

is there anyway you can go into your phone and find your conversation, if so just send them to your email and print them. I never did screenshots I copy and paste the convo to my email and went from there. Or the phone can give you an option to save the chat to your email.

if not then yes I would write up a letter of explanation
I didn't have pictures from beginning of the relationship which is 2011, so I wrote a letter to them explaining my picture were all destroy in my previous phone when it dropped into a bucket of water and I don't have pictures from the beginning of my relationship from 2011 - 2013 - most of my convo and pics from begin of relationship were really actually destroyed and this is what I had to tell them - because to them that would have been a red flag -

I made up the letter with two signature, for myself and my husband to sign it.
always try to cover yourself - sometimes we need to step in the minds of the officer thinking what they would think lol

Thank you needhimback! The thing is we did not have any skype conversations in writing...they were all video chat. We didnt even have any writing on our skype history...just all phonecalls. I did include in my facebook chats where it states what time we were going to skype and stuff. So the option you gave me will not work. So I guess I will just have to write a letter explaining that we never did any screen shots...we both can sign it. Hopefully that will be good enough. We have alot of other strong evidence to cover this

So it shows the calls being made, but not the text of what was typed? (usually us linking each other stuff while talking)

for me i gave them 3 years of complete chatting blocking nothing out - i even submitted all the fights and frustrations we had. i really dont care what they read because no marriage is perfect and CIC know that lol - (they better) i heard they dont want to see or read "i love you all the way through your chats - they want to hear about foundation etc.

for me it better for them to see it and i doubt they will read all those chats i submitted - it will become borning to them at some point.

Screenshots are great to submit too - it shows there was communication, to be honest i cant comments on the block text, but I really dont see it being a problem - as long as you show communication was taken place between you both I'm sure that's good enough.

ps: i went through each and everyone of those chats before i submitted them just in case i said something real terrible about CIC, and if i did I didnt sumbit it lol

It's not so much I'm worried they see us fight and think it's bad, it's that my personal conversation are none of their business and they don't need to know what we say to each other. My right to privacy shouldn't need to be violated for them to approve us.

I need help.

Most of our recorded communications is on Facebook.
Whatsapp messages always deleted, so there isn't any.
Skype, deleted.
Some screenshots from 2011 from our MSN/Video chats.
MagicJack, only recent calls because it doesn't log our old calls.

Some old postcards and email logs from long ago........ (we had an online relationship from 2004 to 2006 and it ended because it was online). In 2011 we found each other again and decided to meet in person for the first time, me going there. We always had strong feelings for each other and it was a great experience when we met in person, we got married, traveled to different cities together in her country, I kept going back. I was starting college when we married and she was still in university, which only recently we started doing the sponsorship forms.

What we do have is tons of photos, I stayed in her country 4 times )( 1 month + 1 month + 2 months + 3 months ). I kept a lot of receipts from places we went to.

If you have enough evidence to prove that your relationship is genuine and also that the sponsor is able to sponsor there should be no problem at all! I know people who have only met a few times...got married and they got approved!

The particular app I used allowed me to export the call logs to a text file. I went through and changed the font size to a small but legible size, and sent in 150 pages of the calls we'd made to one another while we were apart with my application.

It looks like there's an option to export Skype chat and call history:

Skype mainains a log of the calls you make and receive through the Internet phone system. Slide the cursor to the "Call Phones" icon in the middle of the Skype screen and click. Skype provides a link to "View Call History" from there. When the history report opens, you can export it.

You might do a quick google search to see if that's a viable option for you. There are a few other suggestions I saw depending on if you used a computer app or cellphone app, etc. Then, you can do what I did, which was open the info in word, format it to be spaced accordingly, and send it in. I wrote a brief summary with it, explaining what they were looking at, how many hours we'd talked on the phone using the app, and that it proved we communicated when apart.

I have been able to export the calls to his mobile phone or land line, using Skype. You can do this on the Skype website under my usage or something like that. It's not nearly as good as the real Skype video calls but it's something. I'm sure they understand it's not easy to prove Skype conversations. Especially if you start dating without the intention/goal to apply for PR

We use QQ. You can get QQ international in English. or other. QQ saves all your video chat and even photo's you send. It doesn't record your voice talk.
As a backup, i save to my documents, then copy to a jump drive. Never know when this may be required. It also shows date, and times of each call.
Also lets you send files. And click a button, and save a screen shot to your desktop . It is free.
