Please help, I would like to know how did you addressed this requirements of CIC
"Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:
• the English or French translation; and
• an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
• a certified copy of the original document."
I have the following for each document
- Translation to English
- In the same translation, the affidavit "the translator wrote that the document is a true translation from
my native language to English", seal and sign of the translator
- In the same translation, a statement from a public notary stating that the sign of the translator is true,
seal and sign of the lawyer
Do you think that this is enough to cover the requirement of CIC?
My problem is that in some documents I only have the translation, the sign and seal of the translator, without any affidavit
and the sign and seal of the lawyer...
Also , I am not planning to send a certified copy of my original document, but the original document.
please share anything about this point.
Thanks Folks...
Hi
I think they will put severity on this matter when the translator wasn't an official one. When translator is an official then everything should be OK.
If you look at the document checklist it mentioned in the previous paragraph of the "Note" section:
"If your documents are not in English or French, send a notarized (certified) translation with a copy of the original version"
Then as you mentioned in your case, translated documents with both translator and notary's seal and sign on them, will totally cover their requests.
But about those documents, translated by the same translator of your other documents then it seems affidavit and public notary's certification is not very important because the signature of the same translator certified in other documents.
I suggest you to send them your PCC with full affidavit and notary certification because it will be the most important document for them to check your security and background check!
At the end, I think it will be your application's officer's decision, how to accept/put severity on those things! But don't worry my friend, everything should be OK and they will never return applications base on these matters.
;D
