Hv you booked ticket yet? Do you book online or through air ticket agent? do you find out any cheapest one? Show me pls.
I ll land at the beginning of Feb after quitting my job & receiving social & unemployment insurance.

We're buying the tickets today, my wife is planning on going through an agent because she wants to bring multiple luggage and wants to get an idea of what the fees are for each airline, and if she has to pay the extra charges twice when using 2 different airlines.

We kept hearing about this "First Time Immigrant" discount for people flying and immigrating to Canada, but realized it was only for Filipinos.

We haven't picked a final flight yet, but it looks like we might choose the flight by EVA AIR going to Taiwan > Vancouver. About $750 for one way. It was kind of annoying choosing flights because a lot of them divert to the US, but we don't want those flights because you have to apply for a transit visa.

Fahimm

When these site will sell tickets by your credit card, airlines directly deduct from your credit card means airlines sells ticket direct to you. All the baggage rules of the airlines are applied.

check the airlines website for free baggage rules. Begining airlines baggage rules will apply as next carrier has no scope to charge you the fare for extra baggages. I and many of my friends now-a-days buy tickets from websites, we know it well and those are cheapest.

Congrats to those getting visa!

My wife landed on Monday night. We are in process of moving to Quebec this weekend to our new home. We are still excited about seeing our dreams come true and can't believe how fast process went.

For those interested, my wife paid 150.00 cdn in extra bags fee at airport. She brought 3 large suitcases and one carry-on. Also paid 15.00 for luggage handler in Vancouver airport upon landing. Good news though, the entire immigration process at landing took a whole 3 minutes. They gave her some brochures and also sent her an email regarding what to do while settling in Canada. It was so easy for her. Nothing for anyone to worry about.

So, we will now wait 2-6 weeks for her PR card.

She says it is cold here but air smells good. Haha.

Congrats on the landing, I'm sure your heart was beating really fast while waiting to see her show up at the arrivals terminal! And you've got a baby Koifish on the way too!

My wife wanted to bring extra luggage too, but she's only allowed 2 luggage. Her airline is EVA AIR and they charge a crazy amount for extra luggage. But we're just simply planning on returning to Vietnam a couple years later and taking the rest of her stuff together. She already bought her ticket and will arrive on Friday, Dec 5 at evening.

If your wife thinks its cold here, she aint seen January yet :D

Congratz Koifish76 and wife.
So you will move to Quebec?
I wonder whether we will become neighbors :D :)

For those who will book an airline ticket to Canada, just for sharing my experience that it s cheaper to buy it from Canada through online or agent. :)

Hi guys,

FYI I just got an email request to submit my original passport today (oct 29th). I have two questions, please help me if you have experience on this
1. They require me to submit my passport within 30 days, I don't know to count since what date? Because in the email they attached a picture of a physical mail sent from August 26th 2014 that i have never received. Do you think I should count from oct 29th?

2. I have question above because I have to travel to HongKong on middle of November. If the date is counted from oct 29th then i can go to hongkong and comeback and submit my passport. Or... Should I cancel my trip?

Thank you for the advice.

Vi

Ps. I checked my application on CSA and it's still 'application received'. Should I be worried about it? Thanks :o
