Hey everyone,
My wife, the sponsor, who is pregnant with our baby is expecting in june. I just received an email from cic which is something like this
Dear Applicant,
This letter refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. You have informed us that the
sponsor is pregnant.
Please provide the following information within sixty (60) days of the birth of your child so that we can
continue processing your application:
Copy of the child’s birth certificate (listing names of parents), accompanied by a certified
translation if the birth certificate is not in either English or French;
Three (3) original, passport-size photographs of the child (taken within the last 3 months).
If the child is born outside of Canada, procedures must be followed before the child will be able to travel
to Canada. The applicable procedures depend on whether:
1. The child is eligible for a Canadian citizenship (see Appendix A for instructions on how to apply
for proof of Canadian citizenship and a Canadian passport)
2. The child is not eligible for Canadian citizenship (see Appendix B for instructions on how to add
the child to the sponsorship and application for permanent residence)
To ensure your application can be processed as efficiently as possible, please follow the instructions
carefully.
After this they explained Appendix A and B for these two points. Did anyone receive any letter such as this? I understand this have to be done after the baby is born but isnt the baby gonna be canadian if it born inside canada? Please help me with some of yours expert opinion, I am getting a little stressed. I am waiting for over 17 months for my PPR.
