She mailed it on February 24th and Singapore received it on February 26. Her passport was marked URGENT when we received it. This is probably because the visa expires this coming May 3. We did not have to do a re-medical.

My wife received her passport with the permanent residency visa stamped inside today! We submitted the application in May 2013. So, total time from start to finish took about 11 months. We are lucky ones. Good luck to everyone out there! Thank you to those who provided their personal stories...

How long did it take for the system to change to passport received after you sent your passport? We sent my wife's passport to Singapore which apparently arrived on February 26 (according to the tracking service provided by Thailand Post). However, nothing on the immigration system has changed...

Once you mail your passport to Singapore (and they receive it), how long on average do most get their passports back? They say to wait up to 30 days but I've heard of longer times. There was no re-medical or re-police checks. Furthermore, does anyone know whether the 30 day wait period in...

Sent my wife's passport to Singapore today. Went IN PROCESS on February 11, received passport request on February 21 with photos. They did not ask for re-medical or police check. The letter that we received said to allow 30 days for her passport to be returned. Her medical exam from last year...

My wife's status also changed to In Process. She hasn't received anything yet. Her status changed on February 11. So, there has been no re-med or police check. However, these two things are not set to expire until the middle of April. So, hopefully we hear back before then and avoid all the...

Does anyone know what the average wait is to hear a response back after put IN PROCESS? It has only been 9 months so I will likely not require a re-medical test.

When did Singapore receive your file? Is the re-medical just a normal, automatic, renewal system once you've past one year? Or, do they only ask for it when they're ready to put your case in processing? Any idea?

Yes, you are quite correct. It is not a good indicator. Immigration Canada is almost, ALMOST, as frustrating as Rogers Wireless. :)

GCMS notes is a copy of the information that the immigration officers have SO FAR entered on their system concerning your wife's file. It's through the Access to Information Act. You go to this site https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do and follow the links. Your wife will need to fill...

Yes, somewhere...at some time.....somehow.....they are supposed to change the status to In Process (but don't always). It's kind of like a game. At least this is how you and your spouse are likely to feel during the months or years to come. You'll be waiting a long time. I've had application...

6 months is about the fastest I've ever seen through Singapore. Singapore received your file about 2 months after they received mine and I'm still Application Received. So, you're a lucky one! Congratulations. I think once they receive your passport, it's usually delivered back to you within 3-4...

Re: new member with (hopefully) easy question While I don't suggest giving false information to the officer. I wouldn't even mention the extension at that point. They might require a return flight, however, if she is just coming to visit you and see what Canada is like (keeping in mind that...

Re: new member with (hopefully) easy question She would most likely be given 6 months upon arrival. I believe she can submit an application to extend her stay in Canada once in Canada, no later than 1 month prior to its expiry. I've heard that extensions are usually granted and another 6-12...
