My sister went and spoke to her local MP in Toronto about these delays of immigration and stuff. The MP's answer gave rise to a different type of concern. He said it is not the fault of the VO's at the high commissions. Whenever they send request to collect and verify information regarding anything in Bangladesh, Pakistan or places like that, it takes forever for the officials in those countries to respond to the Canadian High commissions quarries. If that is the case then it's really really sad. It might not be the cause of delay but the existence of this possibily is making me very angry and frustrated. What you guys think?

The mp just bulshited...when gcms notes shows no activity for months mean the file is sitting on their desk...

hi, does anyone here know the schedule of the SVO agent?

Like what time do they start working, is it from 6 AM to 11 PM, monday to friday?
And do they work on saturday and sunday too?

I really don't know, i'm just guessing.

thanks in advance.

You can only wish that they worked that many hours. They are government officers. They don't work. They want to get paid for not working. And sometimes get paid for being sick and then take paid holidays with tax payers money from being tired for all the work they haven't done.

Honestly though, I feel they have a schedule for 9 am to 5 pm with an hour of lunch. and ofcourse one must consider all the washroom breaks, coffee breaks, chit chats with other SVO's about our files and how they are going to screw us more.

Just because of SVO..u cant catagorize all government offical like that....NVO's officers are also government officials and they process applications in 12 months or less...to be honest i have no idea whats wrong with singapore visa office...but i see other visa offices (where government officers works by the way) are very efficient....

I can appreciate the fact that SVO is handling application from 11 different countries... however I don't believe it should take anywhere near 26 months to process applications... and then if you are selected for an interview it could take up to an additional 2 years... That is ridiculous :o :o :o

I saw a post another thread where the person applied through the office in Rome - Application sent to CIC-M on July 30 and transferred on Aug 27th ... already has an interview request.... The Rome office is handling applications for 6 countries and has a processing time of 13 months...

I have seen applicants get through other visa offices that have long processing times - Manila is 14 months and looks after applications from 18 different locations.

Two VOs in Africa have processing times of 20 and 25 months and applications are being completed in less than 8 or 9 months ...some less

It doesn't make sense why SVO is taking such a long time with application :(

Hey everyone,

My husband and I have received some encouraging news! first i was approved as a sponsor for my husband (after nearly 1 month sending the PR package), then we were asked to send a few more papers to Singapore office (and it wasnt event 3 months since sending the PR application) and we recently received the approval from Quebec (that my husband is illegible to immigrate to quebec!)

So now, the next step (i think?) will be the interview but we havent heard anything about it yet. Hopefully my husband wont have to do it! fingers crossed... How much longer do you think I should be expecting to wait for the next news?

Thanks x

Hi
What documents did they ask for?

quebecvietnam's file movement sounds hopeful. It appears that there are movement in the Singapore office. But is it just country wise? Any news of file movement of other countries?

Sometimes CIC office in Mississauga forgets to send all documents to SVO Therefore SVO asks for those missed documents. All applications regardless of nationality pass initial review very fast within first one or two months of its receive date in SVO. Major delay is for decision makers officers who hold our files for months...... :(
