Hi all,
I have a big question!
Outland applications at Singapore Office seem to take a really long time, but I'm just figuring out that applications from quite a few countries like Vietnam and Bangladesh are processed here as well.
Do straightforward applications from Singaporean applicants married to Canadian Citizens take as long a time, 26 months?
Married 3 years and I have a degree from a Canadian University as well.
Thanks
Audrey

Hi Audrey,

I think all countries that are processed by Singapore take more or less the same amount of time (26 months max to process) BUT i think where it may be quicker/longer depends on the cases (couples living together or not, married for how long, solid proof of relationship, etc.) I guess the more "obvious" the relationship is to the immigration officer, the quicker it is (in the sense that perhaps for these reasons the interview will be waived... I think?Maybe I am wrong?
I've been living with my vietnamese husband for 3 years , married for over a year now...

Can anyone else who has a straight forwardish Canadian-Citizen-sponsoring-Singaporean-Spouse application that was processed at the SVO chime in?
I had a looksie at the spreadsheet, no Singaporeans on there!
Pretty sad that if I wanted to sponsor my hubby to come here to Singapore its a couple sheets of paper and a month processing it looks like.

Hi Audrey

Curious why you are inquiring about the Singapore time frame when on another thread you have indicated that you have applied inland and are requesting an OWP

Personally I think certain nationalities get through Singapore a little quicker than others and then it will depend on whether the VO requests an interview.

We have to remember that Singapore is looking after applications from 11 countries :(
We have the second longest processing time of all the VOs

All we can do is wait

Because I'm 100% second guessing this Inland application. Singapore seems to have the longest processing time for any VO. And yet every says its faster to apply from your own home country.
We applied through Inland but debated cancelling and applying outland.

That makes sense :)

I have seen people get through in as quick as 6 -8 months... however that is not the norm for Singapore

Good luck with your decision

Hi all:

SVO asked for updated Schedule-A. Little update. They are working but 'spread out'.

A collegue of mine sponsored his wife in Phillipins. His lawyer suggested that he should send in some extra papers as proof of marriage on his own. The lawyer says that these new documents helps to bring the file up. What do you guys think?

Congrats hardtowait.. at least some update. If I am not wrong Schedule A is background check? SVO did not ask you Schedule A and new Police clearance after your re-med? When did SVO ask for the Schedule A? by mail or email?
