Is it important to send documents specifically to the SVO's street address? Last week, I sent a letter to the SVO in Singapour, but I sent it to the "mailing address" (a P.O. box) instead of the "street address"... now I'm worried :-[

Do not worry. Both address is fine. If you send a letter by regular mail, then PO Box should be used. But if you use FedEx or DHL, then street address is better.

Thanks for your help goodman, I sent a letter that requires a signature upon reception... when I track it with the tracking number, the last notice says "Attempted/Unsuccessful delivery" on August 14th. I hope the delivery person left a note so that someone at the SVO can get the letter at the post office...

Hi Davidsuchet: REALLY ?? How do you know this internal information ?? Please provide some references that might clarify our mind to make little more sense... So I would be hoping the Federal Government might pass a BILL in the parliament in the coming session in September to stop this strike. Its a "rumour" I read somewhere. What do you think ?? That is how TTC and few other strikes were stopped in the past. However, I support the demand of making the salary similar to those who work inside Canada. Its a reasonable demand - I reckon. Why is Government making "heck of a deal" out of this demand - I don't get it yet.

I asked from SVO this morning. Just few local officers who are responsible for gathering document, sending email these kind of jobs still on duty. PASFO's members have walked out. CIC send some people to work instead of major officers but I am not sure do they really help or just ........... oh forget about it. I really don't know what will be happening on September, legally, government is able to force them to work by using Get Back to Work legislation, its kind of enforcement tool to push them to get back to work but the point is government can use this rule at any stage of strike. I don't understand why government wants to wait till Sept. Anyway nobody cares about applicants......

So far I talked to any person who is responsible for strike except Harper and GOD :((
Nothing happened :(

IMPORTANT

Singapore Visa Office may ask for a Police Clearance Certificate at the last moment.

My wife got an e-mail today for her to send the Police Certificate. The problem is my wife already mailed her Passport to Singapore 2 days ago as she received her Passport request instruction last month.

This is unfortunate that Singapore would do such a thing (ask for police certificate after asking for Passport).

Anybody has any suggestion what my wife should do to get a police certificate in Dhaka?

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. You can also send me message in my mail box.

New employees that CIC sent instead of professional officers...... what a mess....
if you have to show the passport for police certificate then ask them to return it
Send an email to SVO and tell them we need passport for police certificate 'write urgent' on subject of the email..... :(

hi i found this in CIC's website:

Note for spousal sponsorship:

◦The sponsor will only have access to information about the sponsorship part of an application.
◦The applicant will only have access to information about the permanent residence part of an application.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=030&t=3

That must indicate that a separate UCI number is emailed to the applicant so they can view their application status? We only got 1 letter from Mississauga with 1 UCI number...We still didn't get any email from Singapore confirming application received.

I wonder why they don't just have a detailed process description listing step by step process...that would reduce a lot of our questions and worries..y would they want that ;)

You can access that information by using the application number and the last name of the sponsored person.
