Hi AKHI

sure ill update u .

Hi All :)

Kind of sad how slow Singapore VO is :(
We have ordered GCMS notes again on August 3rd... hopefully will have them by next week and then we can see if any progress has been made since the last time we ordered the notes in May

The last notes indicated the background and security hadn't been started and the RPRF was outstanding. We paid the RPRF last week and received an email from Singapore advising they rec'd our Case Specific Inquiry in which we sent them a copy of the receipt.

I hope we all start hearing something very soon from them

Patience starts to wear thin in this process

Thank you that's really good idea. I hope you see some changes in your file. please keep refreshing us.

cdnmom>> did u pay the RPRF upon request or did you pay it on your own accord? did they issue a receipt for the RPRF?

Hi Kaisin82
No they didn't send us a request to pay it but thought I would save the extra time by paying in on our own. Rather than waiting for them to process it.

As soon as you pay it you will get a receipt which you add some information to and send off.
I emailed it to CIC-M as well as to Singapore

hi hardtowait,

Hi AKHI: 15 biggest CIC offices around the world are observing this STRIKE, and for sure, Singapore is one of them.

Hi thanks for the link. However, I find only 14 names on the list though. Again, I found someone wrote in other tread "Singapore Timeline Vietnamese wife" that while the applicant completed the interview, the Visa Officer himself reminded the applicant about the possible delays in responses because of 'strike'.

Hi I got the post where VO mentioned about the STRIKE..Please read the highlighted red sentence..

canadavietnam:
- The interview is held at the Canadian Consulate near Pasteur street in HCM (not in Singapore)

- You enter there and you give to the security agent the paper form that Immigration sent you with the interview letter #2 (schedule date + time + applicant info, sponsor info) + passport of applicant and myself

- You wait until they call the applicant's name (there are a lot of people in the room and everybody is there for the interview it's like they schedule everyone on that day since a lot of "Canadian employees" are walking around for the interviews or something like that)

- They will call the applicant in room A or B or C or D (the room is like a small room with a glass separating the agent and you and you have a small space where you can exchange things with the agent like in high secure bank type of mechanism).

- You have two persons (1 the VO from Singapore + 1 translator Vietnamese provided by the consulate free of charge) . I feel that even if you only have 1 VO, the translator is somewhat also a kinda of VO since the translator also takes notes and writes stuff in an evaluation form with points 1-5 kind of sheet) I believe the translator has something to do in the evaluation also.

- Their attitude are very serious, no joking, no smiling and mostly they look you in the eyes all the time (it's like they are trained to detect if people are lying or something).

- They first ask all questions to my wife (all questions from the application form originally sent + some questions about the husband and finally random questions like what did you did yesterday) this took about 45 minutes.

- They then called me and they also ask the same questions (i guess to see if I can answers the same as my wife) VO said to me: "we have some concerns about your relationship please explain - it was about age difference I am 8 years older than my wife" finally the VO asked me to talk in Vietnamese and I did so since my wife cannot speak English I guess it was to see if my wife and I can communicate. This took around 30 minutes

- Finally they said "OK we are now gonna call you wife to enter here. Please stay here". My wife enters the room. I was like what's gonna happen now since they all looked serious, not really friendly actually .... and suddenly the VO said: "I have decided to accept your application! congratulationzzzz!!!" now both of the persons VO + Translator have a big smile and said to us. Next step is medical you will receive the instructions shortly. please note there is a strike going on be advise some delay may occur

Note: I asked the VO if the VO was from Singapore and the VO said yes ... I came here just for the interview and will come back to Singapore

@ CanadianFirst hope that my interview story will help you and others going throught this

Thanks

Hi everyone,

Having myself dealt with a SVO in-person on last July 2013 for the interview which we happily "passed" SVO told me that some of the SVO colleagues are affected by the strike and we should expect some delays. SVO said that SVO wish it will come to an end soon

So I guess Singapour is affected

@Maybe good news: SVO did not explicitly said that Singapour was affected but SVO colleagues ... so let's all hope Singapour is not affected

Thanks
