Any suggestions on tourist activities in or around Bangkok? Will be going to Thailand with my wife for a week for our anniversary.
In Bangkok there is the Grand palace to see but with the King death I think it would be difficult to visit. You can go south for beach they are very beautiful, many temple to see also.
For travelling the bus would be good and not expensive. If you go outside Bangkok,Pattaya or Phuket expect a lanquage barrier Thai people don't speak english much ;)

Congratulations! Do u know whether we need to send the entire letter or only appendix B filled up with the passport and photos?
Letter says to send Appendix B but also says "Please make sure you have File#, DOB, Name with docs"
So I guess I will get her send the complete letter.
They will keep it or shred it.

You may won't like it but I can't agree with you on this opinion of 'Bangladeshi Applicants"!

Visa officer doesn't look for who is Bangladeshi applicant and who is Australian applicant to judge whether they will conduct an interview or not. It depends on the cases, application structure, red flags, divorce and so many other factors.

I completely understand your and situation/frustration and I can only imagine since 5.5 months was like ages for me. But the truth is you really know why they put you on interview queue better than anyone else and you also know that it may make sense (Based on if you put yourself on V Officer's shoe).

If country of origin is the only facts, then please go to Nairobi/NDVO (For some Afghan applicants) thread and see how fast some applicants processed because of solid and straight forward cases.

And also visit Australia/USA/London/Vienna pages to see some waiting for long time and some are in interview queue.

Someone please correct me, if I am wrong.

I wish all of us fast processing and good news soon.

Temples and beaches sound good.

I'm good with the language barrier. My wife lives outside of tourist area of Indonesia and essentially nobody speaks English here. I frequently go out on the town while my wife stays home and I use a translation app to speak to people as my Indonesian is very limited. I'm actually the ONLY white guy here within a 5 hour drive to the closest major tourist city and when I'm out people I've never seen before say " Oh you're the Canadian bule" lmao.

You're half right.

While the things you mention about application structure do play a part, countries that aren't first world western countries face much higher scrutiny.

many bangladeshi applicants r going thru interview process even without having red flags. even i saw few months back they were putting in interview queue randomly. thats not the case, its obviously a good sign tht they r nt doing interview fr recent SVO applicants (nd im happy t see that).

I mean travelling between cities is there good transit- train, bus whatever.
Trains between major cities such as Bangkok and Changmai or Bangkok and south towards Hat Yai, Bangkok to the Northeast, etc. There are basically 3 levels of train service, seats, bunks and private rooms. They are in various states of disrepair. Large buses also on the major routes and there are mini buses ( 12 seat vans) between almost every location but in my opinion they are death traps and I advise everyone to stay away from them. Taxis are actually very affordable if you negotiate the price in advance. For example I can go from Hua Hin to BKK airport which is about a 2.5 hour trip for 2000 baht ( $60 USD). For the longer sectors the budget airlines ( Thai Smile, Nok Air, Air Asia) can be pretty reasonable as well.
All depends on where you want to go, beaches, mountains, islands, bars, night life, etc.

Hello SVO applicants.
Do anyone know how to summit passport with VFS Thailand in Bangkok? And How much it will cost?
On the side they say I have to put my information on computer too? Not really clear.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the detailed post. Taxi seems more expensive than in Indonesia. It would be half that or less here for 2.5 hour trip. We have those mini bus things here as well and I've taken a few of them. Not really interested in the club and bar scene too much. More interested in beaches or temples or mountains etc.

Congrats!! You are on your way now. I have had some comms with SVO now for med and police check so at least I know they are looking at our file. I hope that as soon as I get the police check to them we will get some good news shortly after that.

Good luck to all.
Thanks! You are almost there friend! Last step. Just get PCC sent to them, sit back and relax.
Get some PR photos taken early for your wife and family (If any) prior so as soon as you get PPR you can send PP in.
I guess you are not in rush anyways as you planning to move in Apr/May.
