Hey guys,

I applied back in April 2011. According to ECAS, my wife's Permanent Resident Application Status is "Application Received" by Singapore VO in May 27, 2011. That's the last entry on ECAS. It's almost been two months since they received it.

How long do you reckon before they touch our file and start processing it? Neither of us haven't heard anything from CIC-M nor Singapore VO since the last time they approved my application to sponsor my wife.

My wife is planning to take a National Dentistry Equivalency Board exam in February, and she intends to be in Toronto in around mid-November. Do you reckon the Immigration Office will grant her a TRV?

Should I bother ordering a CAIPS note? Should I continue bombarding them with Emails? Should I fly to Singapore to see what they're up to?

BY THE WAY, any April 2011 Singapore applicants here? Have you heard anything from CIC-M/Singapore VO? I assume ya'll have been approved to become a sponsor, and waiting for to hear their decision on your spouse's application to become a PR?

I'm not sure what that means in your CAPIS notes hello kiity.

And for evan hindra, it seems they don't start processing application for about 8 months after being recieved so theres not much you can do now unless you want to talk to your government about the very slow processing times at the sinapore office. I would wait until the end of the year before emailing a bunch. Your wife may be able to get a TRV if she has alot of property or a stable job in her country as proof that she will will return there if she isn't approved her PR. But if she doesn't have good proof that she would return if not approved her PR, then they won't let her in on anything except if she is apporoved her PR. My app was recieved in December and didn't switch to in process until June 1st. Still haven't heard a single word from them via email or mail.

Also, I'm sending an email to singapore via general immigration and case specific enquirey about my mailing address and medicals and have given them and update of our situation and more proof of our relatrionship. I hope I get a reply as it would feel GREAT! I also plan on ordering the CAPIS notes as well. It just sucks having not heard a word from them. :( At least it changed to in process...

If they are taking so long, I strongly recommend you to request CAIP notes.

Of course I will write about any updates. I do want the CAPIS notes as well. I'm going to figure out how to get them now.

Update for yall. I sent an email through the general inquirey email address and the case specific enquirey, just asking for the current mailing address they have on file and wanting to know if we should do a new medical because we want to speed up the process, etc, and some additional proof. Only a day later (tonight) they already answered the general enquirey email. This is all they said.

"Mr Arnold,

We will be sending a letter with medical form for your wife to undergo a new medical exam and submit additional documents.
Please wait for the letter. Our mailing address for your wife is:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Please confirm if the mailing address is correct."

So I just confirmed the address and said thanks for the quick reply. I hope we get a lettwer sooon. BTW our medicals expire next month so this could be reason fore delay because the application may have been put in a new pile because of that. We did our medicals too early. :(

I'm happy about the quick reply and awaiting this letter.

Ok let me edit my previous reply to your post. I just checked after reading your post and my wife's application was also changed to;

We received XXXXX XXXXXXXXX application for permanent residence on March 17, 2011.

We started processing XXXXX XXXXXXX application on July 17, 2011.

Medical results have been received
.

So at the risk of sounding uninformed yet again what exactly does in process mean to us?

Still possibility of interview?

Is there a timeline we should be expecting from this point on?

Thanks for any info anyone can provide.. I will search the forum as well to see what any of this might mean.

THat is weird. Singapore received my application on Feb 3rd 2011. But the status remains "received".
But arvin812 and Bangkokcanuck whose apps were received after mine, are already "in process".

Wonder how they process the application

I think we all have accepted that there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why and how SG orders the apps. I guess they must have some sort of internal system (one would hope) but it sure does not seem that way from the outside.

Is there anything about your application that might be red flag territory to the VO?

Not really, this is the first marriage for both my wife and I. It should be a straight forward case. I am a canadian PR (singapore citizen), and my wife is a Singapore PR (indian citizen). But my wife was lucky to get a visitors visa to canada. Could that be it?
