No, I don't think it is required by default, a good chunk of cases go through without ever being requested to provide them.I noticed some people have a request for finger print while others don't. Is the finger print request required for background check? or is everyone actually getting asked for one cuz I haven't received any request for one
Some people get a request for fingerprints and some don't - depends on a number of factors and they will email you and let you know if you need to do it.I noticed some people have a request for finger print while others don't. This is same as my timeline.
No test invite yet.
I think that I travelled a lot during the time in Canada ( over 6-7 times) then I think they need that for calculating physical presence and also for security background check. Some background check begin sooner depending on the office.I noticed some people have a request for finger print while others don't. Is the finger print request required for background check? or is everyone actually getting asked for one cuz I haven't received any request for one
My friend did the test while travelling outside Canada with no issues. Just inform them and do it.Hi Everyone, here is my timeline

AOR: Oct 3, 2024
Application Linked to Tracker: Oct 5, 2024
Ghost Update: Nov 25, 2024
Background Completed: Nov 25, 2024 (reflected on the tracker on November 27th)
Citizenship test status: still says not started (on Dec 6th)
Citizenship test email: received Dec 6th
Test Window: Dec 13, 2024 - Jan 11, 2025 (Vancouver Office)
I also had called IRCC on 2 separate occasions I needed to inform them that I would be travelling outside in Canada from leaving Dec 12th 2024 and returning Jan 12th 2024.
So I asked them if there are any issues taking the test outside of Canada, and they said that I have to send an email after I got my test invitation and explain I was outside of Canada and it wouldn’t be a problem. I requested that I please not be scheduled for the test during my time away from Canada.
I spoke with another IRCC agent this past Monday and they confirmed that it was on my file that I would be outside of the country during those days and that I would be not asked to take the test during this time.
‘And then today I got a test invitation with the exact dates that I’m travelling (so both of my requests were ignored). I emailed the Vancouver Office saying that I will be travelling for a month to 3 different countries with unreliable internet and many family activities planned and that I had informed them of my situation and to please reschedule my citizenship test dates either for before Dec 13th or after Jan 12th, and they replied saying that I had to re-read the test invitation carefully!
I called IRCC again today magically managed to get through and they said that my test invitation letter was on file, I went through the letter with the agent to see if I had misunderstood anything, and he confirmed I hadn’t missed anything. And he said that I did everything right regarding my request to reschedule the test and that it was a very normal thing to request and they should be able to do it no problem. And he said to send them another email.
So that’s my story, right now my only chance to take the test in Canada would be to somehow take it between connecting flights at a hotel next to the airport, or try my chances outside Canada between gazillion family events (most of whom haven’t seen in 7 years, and travelling with my hubbie and 2 young kids so it’s a lot of moving parts in other words caos). Also one of the IRCC agents told me that if I take the test outside of Canada my process can be delayed as they may request an interview when Im back in Canada.
At this point I’m at a lost as to what to do, if it’s even worth trying getting the test rescheduled.
Any thoughts or advice is appreciated…..
If the test is not rescheduled till the date you want to give the test, it's better you give your test within the existing window. Sometimes what the agent says and how the officer works are not in sync. As you coming back don't worry about interview. It causes delays for people who are permanently outside Canada and want to come back only for oath.Hi Everyone, here is my timeline

Is this normal? I see on the excel sheet that most of the applicants that have received the AOR on or around October 9 have already received a test invite. Currently I am out of Canada and thus cannot even call the IRCC.Type: Online application
