Hi. Yes I lived there for 183 days in a row. But that was 10 years back and it's outside of 4 years eligibility period.Since you were 18.
Have you lived in India for 183 days in a row since you were 18?

Understood, but the new instructions state since you were 18.Hi. Yes I lived there for 183 days in a row. But that was 10 years back and it's outside of 4 years eligibility period.
I think if you have clearly specified your timelines with dates about your India plus other country's stay with entry /exit stamps in your passport - they might not have asked - I believe they might have assumed you were in India for 6 months and so this requirements.Since you were 18.

That's an odd response, either a mistake or our applications are in total limbo. Finally got a reply from my tech form submitted weeks ago - however it's asking for the below. This is after submitting almost all of it already and a screenshot of the tracker error.
I'll send it off in full again, but at this point, I'm just waiting for an email rather than the tracker now:
"Please note that this email is a response to the enquiries found below this email.
We verified the information you provided; however, it differs from what we have on file.
In order to better assist you, please resubmit your request by including the following information in a letter of explanation and uploading it in the IRCC Web form:
Surname and complete given name (including middle name, if applicable) - exactly as they appear on the passport or identity document,
Date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD),
Client ID Number, UCI or Application Number,
Country of birth,
Type of application,
Current address,
Telephone number(s),
Email address (if the application was submitted online, please confirm the email address used to register the account), and
All documents submitted with your previous request.
We will gladly reply to your enquiry within 5 business days following the reception of the abov
e information."
I don't think I'd call it scary. I think submitting the webform I didn't provide enough info (for one, I didn't include my full name (middle names) etc. That's an odd response, either a mistake or our applications are in total limbo.
Scary either way.
There are many of us in same situation and anything within the 7 month time line need not to worry, sooner or later we will reach to our destination.I don't think I'd call it scary. I also don't think we are in limbo, as we are all within a normal timeframe. I'll reply and see if I hear anything in those 5 business days
Absolutely - I'll start getting 'worried' around the 3 month mark if I haven't received an invite. Before then the tracker is just annoying. Let's see if my EXTRA info helps....There are many of us in same situation and anything within the 7 month time line need not to worry, sooner or later we will reach to our destination.
If I was in your position, I would just apply and provide it. No point in contacting them, going back and forth on why they need it etc. Takes bunch of time for them to respond once. By that time, you would have got your PCC itself.Type: Online application
Location: Montreal
Physical Presence Days: 1096
Application: Single
Application Submitted: 28 September, 2024
Application Returnerd: 16 October, 2024 (Reason: Asked to provide valid photo according to specifications)
Appication Resubmitted: 16 October, 2024
AOR: 28 October, 2024
I have received 2 emails today from IRCC.
(1) AOR email
(2) Request to provide Police clearance certificate for India( I have attached below):
Police Certificate Request
· You must provide a police certificate for each country or territory where you have been present for 183 days or more in a row (since the age of 18). If you cannot get a police certificate, please explain why. A police certificate or explanation for no certificate is required for your time spent in INDIA.
I Have 1 question:
I lived outside of Canada in 2021 for 7 months. But i did not live in India for 7 months. I was in India for 5 months & 2 months in another country. So, according to application requirements, i do not need to provide Police clearance certificate.
So, do i need to provide it anyway or can i just upload explanation letter?
If someone has gone through this situation and answer this then it would be big help.
Thank you.
Okay. I will apply it in BLS Montreal. Thank youIf I was in your position, I would just apply and provide it. No point in contacting them, going back and forth on why they need it etc. Takes bunch of time for them to respond once. By that time, you would have got your PCC itself.
