Hi,

I am here to share some points reg one’s delay in citizenship application process.

In specific to my case, I had not received AOR for more than 55 days (paper application, the trend was AOR with in 20/25 days time period) so I even thought that my application was not reached / missed by the office , later I raised a web form, then with in 2 days I received an AOR email. (Note: I received 2 response emails from IRCC for my web form, one even after my citizenship test invite.)

From that timeline, almost every week on Thursday- Friday I used to get a new update / status.

As it varies with each individual’s details, there might be a specific ease factor contributing for the quick process.

For example, I am here for more than 9 years (in the same address), no major travel history after COVID, done a diploma course, I almost had nothing to fill much in the application form.

So, my take away point is don’t hesitate to call / email or write a web form to IRCC, if you are stuck for a noticeable long period of time in the same status.

I am writing this just to ease up your mind, take a next step if no response.

I faced a similar situation for my PR card where the first issued one was never received and was told that it may have gone to a different address. Took a full 8 months after landing to get the PR card Numerous web form queries and multiple calls led to it being dispatched in that timefram. Thank You for the write up. I’ll wait out the normal processing times and will reach out to them if it’s taking even longer.

Hi guys!
Gongratulations for all applicants that received good news.
I have an observation about Montréal Office. I don't know how relevent the observation is.
But based on the sheet tracker, since the end of november, Montréal office hasn't clear any BG or even sent any fingerprint request to the applicants, except 3 requests (me and two other applicants on Jan 16 et Jan 17). It's like Montréal office freezed all BG check till further notice. I don't know if I'm right or not.

I just got off the call with IRCC support regarding my BG check. The agent confirmed my Criminally check was done, so No, I didn't miss any FP request or will receive one. My Security is not done, it's all in CSIS hand now

Here’s my timeline:
Application submitted: Sep 14, 2023
Filed: Oct 20, 2023
BG completed: Oct 27, 2023( although my husband’s is still in progress)
Test invite: Nov 6th
Test taken: Nov 18th
Test shown as complete: Nov 24th
And since then nothing has changed. LPP in progress

We have somewhat similar timelines! My last update was Nov 24 as well for BG completed and nothing after that! LPP in progress

Thsi is exactly the opposite of my case. Security is already done. For Criminality, I sent them my FP on jan 16 and I have to wait between 1 and 1,5 months before my BG is cleared.
All what we can do is to be patient.
