Very strange indeed. Either they fixed synchronization issue so for many people the status changed to a real one; or they broke something and it’s just a glitch; or they just dumped everyone to CSIS before the strike in the effort to minimize their backlog when they come back… But it all just speculation of course.

Me being a January 2023 applicant, mine also changed my Background to In progress on April 19th. I think your hypothesis is valid to try to minimize delays.

I, too, got updated BG to "In Progress". VO is Ottawa as far as I know - they never actually told me and when I called IRCC they weren't really sure either.

It looks like everyone who is Medical Passed got background updated in Progress on 4/19 . I guess maybe the IRCC wants to tell the applicants that they are still working during the strike..

Got copr no today.. in 3 days .. eligibility passed, bg approved and copr..
How many does does it take for the copr doc and ppr from here ?

My husband got his COPR today too. Not sure how long the PPR and the doc will take with the strike but the wait is almost over!!
