I cannot slow things down any more than they already are. It makes no difference, changing the address. The IRCC have a specific change your address wizard so it should be a normal flow an application can go through. There is no downside to changing your address. If you provide your email address in your application, all correspondence will go there.

The problem with changing address is not because you won't receive mail. That's not the reason why @Nevine.Kassem hasn't changed address. It is because if this results in a file transfer, then that might contribute to additional delays.

Generally, if you move within the GTA, then a file transfer will likely not occur. However, if you currently live in the GTA and move outside the GTA, then a file transfer is possible. If you currently live outside the GTA or in another province and you change the address AND the new address falls under the jurisdiction of a different IRCC office, then that might result in a file transfer as well.

There is more to Canada then the GTA :) I moved within the same city, so there is no issue with a file transfer.

Yeah I know.

That's why I said "If you currently live outside the GTA or in another province and you change the address AND the new address falls under the jurisdiction of a different IRCC office, then that might result in a file transfer as well. "

There is some special treatment applicants moving within the GTA:

  • Transfers should not occur within the Greater Toronto Area, except in exceptional cases.

Anyway, good luck. Please keep us posted with any updates to your application. Hope you receive your test invite soon!

Yay!!!!!

Guys, something unbelievable just happened!

I just got a call from Mississauga IRCC office a few minutes back and I was told they approved my application based on my urgent processing request and I am being scheduled for oath on August 23rd. She said I'll receive an email in 2 business days!

Update :

So, looks like IRCC employees are hard at work after business hours. I got the call at 8:25 PM which isn't standard business hours. Looks like IRCC is trying to speed up and move applications to decrease backlog.

Nice, congrats! One day we (October, Vancouver applicants) will join you.

Perhaps in 2024? lol

lol. No, it won't take that long. Not too long from now, a mix of in-person and online oath ceremonies should decrease the backlog significantly.

I wish you all the very best!

Just a reminder, if you get a call from a number you don't recognize or from one that says "Private Number" or any "Unknown" number for that matter, just answer the call. IRCC could be calling to convey some information about the oath ceremony.
