Congrats!
Fellow CEC VO Edmonton.
Though my AOR is October 19th.
Called IRCC two weeks ago and they said nothing has changed after MEP.
Wonder they gave you such inaccurate info on the phone.
They only say what they can see. They are just customer service reps

Thanks for the information. I am applying from Canada, I am on an open work permit. How do I complete landing process from inside Canada?
Refer this link https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=748&top=22 for options.
You can either use Web Form to book an appointment for inland landing. Good option if you are not in a hurry and can wait for upto 2-3 months.
Another option is flagpole, go to land borders like Niagra, 1000 Islands, etc. Cross the border to US side, tell them you are here for flagpole and they will give admin refusal and while coming back to Canada, you can get your landing done. There are lot of other threads talking about people's experiences with flagpole, but mine was rather smooth. Did at 1000 Islands and took around 1 hour.

Glad to see so much progress for all you guys. I'm so very happy for you all. One minor update; I booked my flight to Toronto for first week of Sept (my visa expires two weeks later, so it's good buffer time).

But I could use some kind words: Today I had a minor panic attack at work because I was worried about quitting the job, getting on that plane, settling, struggling in the first few weeks, finding that new Canada job...

Every negative scenario about how everything could go wrong ran in my head and it was fuelled by my anxiety. I made it to the bathroom stall and I was breathing very fast and my heart was beating very hard. It took me a few minutes to calm down and then I made it back to my seat, but my manager was visibly worried when he saw me because he said I looked "very off".

Most days are good, one or two are bad- partly because I put too much pressure on myself to figure EVERYTHING out before I even get to Canada. All my friends tell me that I'll do fine (seeing the way I went about destroying every obstacle towards the PR). But this next challenge seems so much difficult.

Please send some good vibes and messages my way guys. I'm in a mentally bad space today.

Your friend,
Pumpkin.

Hey mate I think you are trying to think to far ahead. See you already got your PR that too in three months time which is already an impressive achievement. You did handle yourself well during the waiting period.

Regarding the initial struggle it is a phase that every new PR applicant has to go through don't worry it will be breeze man.

My advice to.you is try to focus on the present (I know it is cliche) but worrying too much about tomorrow causes unnecessary fear and anxiety. Go spend time with friends have some booze or party ....

By the way which city are you from ?

You think too much Pumpkin, some of your past posts showed how excited you are to move here but today's post was a bit sad.
I have been living here for 6 years, it's an amazing place, you will have good opportunities. Don't think if you have impressive job there and you will get the same here. I have seen a Govt worker and a tv actor driving trucks. That doesn't mean you can't get the job you like. But people who don't want to welcome other opportunities fail here. Good luck, think positive, think where would you like to move.
Bigger cities have a lot of competition and smaller ones are growing but good for the income

Hello Guys,

So I just did my PR Landing today from Niagara Falls ( Rainbow Bridge) and I would say it was the smoothest process that you could ever believe (At least my experience ). I reached Niagara falls on 11th Feb at 9 pm after my work, I had booked a cheap hotel just near the bridge ( named "Travelodge by Windham Niagara Falls" ) for 60 bucks. Actually that was the best option as I didn't had to struggle in the morning to travel from Toronto as we can never predict the weather. Streets in Niagara Falls Downtown were empty like hell so if you are staying there for the night make sure you carry some extra food to survive as all the restaurants are closed till 6 pm ( I had to eat some chips and fruit to survive that night lol ).l The next day that is on 12th Feb I reached the Crossing at around 6:45 AM and crossed the border to the USA. USA ( CBP ) officers were very cool and didn't take much time to verify all my details and handed me that refusal slip. I was out on my way back to Canada within 25 mins. Once I reached the Canadian side I had to wait until 8 AM as the administrative processing starts at that time. There were about 6-7 people after me waiting to get their documents processed. I was lucky enough to have myself first in the queue. After like 5 mins the CBSA officer called my name and I submitted all my documents. Within 20 mins the processing was done. I had to sign and then he congratulated me for Becoming PR. Also, he advised me that I should receive my PR Card within 60 calendar days. So this was the whole journey of my PR Landing.

If you guys have any questions please feel free to ask me here in this forum. I would love to help you guys. I hope my experience will help all of those who are planning to flagpole in the future. Wishing one and all the very best - Cheers !

Thanks,
Gavin Dsilva

Hello Friends. Is there any fixed intervals at which PPR mails are sent out. I saw a ghost update after my IP2 stage a couple of days back. I'm assuming this is a precursor for the PPR mail. But I'm not sure how long the wait is.
Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi everyone. AOR 30th September 2019. Medicals passed 10th October and biometrics completed 11th October. Since then, Eligiblity shows we are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility and background check still shows your application is in progress we will let you know when we start your background check. Please is anyone else experiencing this? And should I be worried?

Hi @Finem1. My AOR is 17th Sep 2019, since medicals passed no updates. Eligibility and background check the same as yours. You should not be worried as it is still within 6 months. I raised a web-form 2 weeks ago and the agent responded with the following:

-The security background verification has not been initiated.

-The criminal background verification is currently valid.

Try to raise a web form or call IRCC, for eligibility and security updates.

Cheers!
