What information does the sponsor need to link their application to the online account. Can the principal applicant and the sponsor both link the application through their individual accounts?

I was married outside Canada and had to have my marriage certificate translated to English. Apparently the translation I submitted with my application when I originally mailed it in did not convince the officer who reviewed it that it was a valid marriage certificate. There was a note in the request letter they sent me reminding me that a record of solemnization of marriage is not the same as a marriage certificate. So I suspect that they thought I submitted a record of solemnization.
Now, I happened to have gotten another translation of my marriage certificate done right after I got married which very clearly shows that the document is a legal marriage certificate. I uploaded a copy of this translation to replace the original.
The reason I didn’t submit this translation with my application originally is because you do not get your documents returned to you and I wanted to keep this translation and the original document for my own records. But since in the request letter they only ask you to upload a copy of the document, I went ahead and did so.
I happened to have access to some legal counsel and was advised to go ahead and do exactly what I did.

Relax, just send them again. It won’t delayed ur application. Mine is they need my family info as I send it to them with my application. Then after a month I got my MR.

That's good to hear. My father is a September 21 applicant so hopefully we can expect background check to start soon.
