Just received oath invite through email. Oath ceremony will be on 2nd of August Calgary.
@ywg_dude here is an update for you, hope it is helpful. For my son, they issued the passport 2 days after we applied (friday) and mailed next business day (monday), I got canadapost delivery notice on the same day in our mailbox and collected passport on Tuesday. Basically it took a 8 days (including day to apply and collect) for him.I applied for my son's passport yesterday at Ottawa Passport Office located at 885 Meadowlands Drive East. I was told that the processing time is 10 business days and the passport is guaranteed to be delivered on or by June 4 (which is given me on a written receipt), via registered mail (exactly after two weeks). So in my opinion, do not change your oath date as it hard to get earlier date as well as it might delay your process. Even if you apply for normal processing time, you still have a week of buffer time. In the worst case, you can go with option of urgent processing (next day pickup), express pickup (2-9 business days) or standard pickup (10 business days) with some extra $$. Find detail here, https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-passports/fees/passport-canada.html
Note: I was there during noon yesterday, which was the first work day of the week. It was not relatively crowded (around 50-70 people), but the entire process took me less than 30 mins. Waited 10 mins to receive token number, another 10 mins for my turn to submit application (there were ~15 applicant before me), and another ~10 mins to handover application and validate documents. They were pretty fast and efficient and have more than 10 kiosks to process our application.
Oh ok, thanks for the info.I am also a September applicant and haven't heard anything since the application went "In-Process" in December. There's nothing to worry and you can't do anything anyway. They will contact when your file is updated. You can try calling them or submitting a webform to inquire about your file but in most cases that doesn't do much.
Their offices are different. Which office is your file at? Some Mississauga area applicants had to wait more than 15 months before they heard anything. Hopefully that wouldn't be the case for us.Oh ok, thanks for the info.
I thought something was wrong cuz i see people getting their oath ceremonies.

Hi abhinavshah,Hi there,
My ECAS status got updated to "Decision Made" last week and I am still waiting for my oath invitation. I was wondering if I should expect oath invitation by email or postage mail?
I am based in Ottawa and I had passed my citizenship test on May 16th. Not sure what's the timeline for oath invitation for Ottawa based applicants after they pass the citizenship test and ECAS showing Decision Made status. If anyone wants to throw some insight, much appreciated!!
Hey! I live on Van island too! I got the same mail from CIC, but will go to Van next month! Not Victoria, but Nanaimo They won't come back to the Parksville area until 2020! Whoooo!Received an email this morning about Oath Ceremony....as they won't hold an Oath Ceremony at our itinerant office for another 6 months, they gave a choice of dates to do the Oath in Vancouver. Responded to the email right away with first and second choice...hurray!!! The finish line is in sight!
glad it was useful for you. Best of luck for the oath. do let us know your oath experience. I see there are a lot of oath ceremonies in June, hope we the nov applicants will get ours soon.Thank you for this most helpful update
Thank gracious goodness GOD, we did our oath ceremony on Friday May 31st in Calgary.
Few takeaways:
1. The ceremony takes about an hour and a half. But you probably will probably take you about 3 hours (in & out). The check-in ~30 minutes; administrative time (announcements, etc) ~15 minutes and pictures time (though can be shorter but hey goodluck thinking everyone takes pictures under few seconds
2. They only asked for our DL and PR Card. Though we had Copy of PR status, they did not ask for it. They did not ask for our passports either
3. Seating is assigned.
4. Guests seat separately
Glad this is all over. Time to apply for passport
Mississauga applicant. I think it was sent to sydney. I dont know much about the process.Their offices are different. Which office is your file at? Some Mississauga area applicants had to wait more than 15 months before they heard anything. Hopefully that wouldn't be the case for us.
Mississauga applicant. I think it was sent to sydney. I dont know much about the process.
My dad has a lot of travel history. That can also be a reason for delay.
From Sydney the application is transferred to the relevant local office. In your case it would be either Mississauga or Scarborough. I hope it's Scarborough. If travel history is a concern, they would ask for more information. With IRCC, it's highly unpredictable when and what they would ask you. You can check the status of your application at the following website.Mississauga applicant. I think it was sent to sydney. I dont know much about the process.
