Hey guys - I was directed here after making a thread of my own in the forums.

I'm American, in Canada on a long term visitor status. My wife is Canadian and we applied for a spousal outland PR that was delivered on the 16th of September.

We haven't heard anything since. I've called and they haven't linked the account yet.

Our application was thorough, we took over 6 months to put everything together. I did the medical and criminal record check and everything up front. I don't think we missed a beat in any of it.

My timeline seems a bit longer compared to others here.... and I'm worried. anyone have any helpful feedback to calm our nerves? Thanks!

Well, I guess I should have waited a few hours before posting.... I literally just had the application returned today, saying that I filled out the IMM5406 incorrectly. I called them, got walked through my mistakes, and I'm sending it back out tomorrow. fingers crossed this is the last time I have to! :)

I am starting to feel nervous ??? as strangely enough myCIC account still shows application number as XF and the status is not available message even though I had F number and UCI yesterday. I sent a message via technical problem link and I will call them tomorrow morning as it is not possible to reach them any other time of the day.

Any ideas/similar case?

Thanks.

Out of curiosity, what did you do incorrectly?

Just got off the phone with an agent and he basically said it might be a technical issue as sometimes it takes time for refresh even for myCIC. He advised to contact technical support which I did today via email. I was also surprised to get through to an agent at 4:50pm well I waited 26 minutes :)

Hello fellow Sep applicants, I'm brand new to this forum and I'm a Sep applicant as well, I will be posting my timelines in the spreadsheet soon but I want to try help those who are struggling to link their application to CIC, try the below steps as I saw a lot of people succeeding using this method

The combination of information that I used to find the application (finally) was:

1. Logged in with GC Key account.
2. Permanent Residence > Family Class (Spouses)
2. Application Number and Family Name - Copy/pasted application number from email (including the F) and entered PA's last name.
3. City of Birth - I entered 1 space (hit spacebar once)
4. Country of Birth - Selected PA's country of birth
5. Passport Info - Did not enter any passport info
6. Other Application Info - Filled out the other application info as per our application and put '2' as the number of members in the application. I am sponsoring my wife, no dependents.

It popped up saying 1 application was found. Hope this helps someone trying to link their account.

Give this a go, hope it helps!!

Can't wait to try this tonight once I'm allowed in again! Since I have 2 kids (listed as step kids for principal applicant) I am going to try 2, 3, and 4 as number of family members!

I have added this as a tab to the september spreadsheet because so many people found it useful. Awesome!

just a quick question-

im here in canada on a working holiday

if I get PR approved do I have to leave the country then come back in?

I think you mean work permit.

People generally cross borders by road, come back and get the PR "activated". I don't know if US visa is required or not.

You just need to do Flag polling...cross boarder ( Does not need to have USA Visitor visa)

You can create multiple accounts until you figure out the combination that works for you.. you don't have to wait 24 hours and until your account is unlocked.. good luck :)

I received an email regarding SA today, it got approved and the file got forwarded to New Delhi. But on MyCIC it says 'review in progress" for eligibility. isn't it supposed to be saying passed?
