Another lurking October applicant. Is Ecas or MyCIC updated first usually? Ive been checking MyCIC religiously. Ecas I check occasionally.

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to update you all that we got an email January 10th with request for additional documents. For some reason, they're asking for a marriage certificate (Original PSA (Philippine Statistics Authority) Advisory on Marriages for yourself) even if we mailed one with the package. We're guessing it wasn't forwarded to the Manila office. We're just confused which address to mail it to. Apparently not to the embassy and possibly this Visa centre (www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/Philippines/index.html)

We apparently also need to send an email containing the information for his personal history back in 2008. We didn't write down unemployed for 15 months (it's been really hard to think back that far ago) but we're just glad things are moving along. I guess they won't check our application until 30 days.

I checked my ECAS this morning and it says Decision Made. MyCic doesn't say anything different, still at "Background Check in Progress". Not sure if that's a good sign. Does anybody know more about it?

As does mine So I assume it is normal. Perhaps it is for additional submitted docs one may or may not be required to submit?

I'm in the same boat, from what I have read Ecas seem's to be what is updated first.

Was finally able to go through the messages! I was away for the holidays, visited my husband for our anniversary, Christmas and New Year celebrations. Had to return quickly for work!

Congratulations to all that have had progress since the new year!! On our end, they're asking for additional documents so we're thinking positively that they're looking at our paperwork. They asked us for a Philippine PSA Advisory on Marriages. I was thinking it's the same as a Marriage Cert so we're just waiting for confirmation from the Philippine forum if it's the same thing.

ECAS has updated from In Process to DECISION MADE!. Nothing has updated on GCKey yet. I'm assuming that the decision made means I've been approved since I already passed my medicals. Will keep you updated !
