Folks,
I know this question has been asked so many times, however I want to double check.
What should we take with ourselves on the test/ interview date?
1. Letter of invitation for test - yes
2. Job confirmation
3. Pay stubs
4. Bank statement
5. Rental agreement/ Home ownership
6. School records - I am not sure about this since I do not have school going children. Can anyone else answer this one?
7. Degree/ transcripts - yes, if you are using it as proof of English/French language proficiency
8. Original passports/ PR cards and landing papers - yes, yes (if you have multiple PR cards, bring all of them) and yes!
9. Passport translation by ATIO certified translator - yes, if you are using it as proof of English/French language proficiency
10. Phone bills etc
- items 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 are not needed, since we were not required to submit those as part of the citizenship application, but you can keep them with you in a separate folder/envelope just in case. You would need only the originals of the documents that were used as part of the citizenship application; keep them in a single folder/envelope.
- I guess the interview is basically to check your communication skills, where they will ask questions based on information that you provided in your application form, e.g. about your work, residence, tax filing, etc (I was not asked for any proof of residence, employment or notices of assessment for taxes).
- They will also check the stamps on your passport(s) and match them against the physical presence calculation printout that you submitted as part of your application.
What else?
- 2 pieces of ID: Driver's licence and Health card (passport would also suffice). They will ask for 2 pieces of ID and your letter of invitation before they let you inside the test room.
Thanks,
