I'm sorry to hear that :( seems like Accra is indeed slow. I know someone that applied same day and me and same VO but they got ppr a couple of weeks ago yet I'm still waiting.
Wish they would pick up some speed. Hope you get answers soon and that you can be reunited with your spouse during this difficult times when you need it the most.

Hi guys,
This morning i received the email from the embassy in ROME to say that my Visa is ready to pickup and to make arrangements :D. But I'm having trouble with courier to pickup it because the embassy didn't provide a contact number and name for the pickup. Can you suggest a solution based on your experiences?

You can apply with her maiden name if you want. We decided - to avoid potential confusion in processing and in the future - that it was better to get a new passport for my wife with married name. We figured better a month or two delay up front to avoid potential (possibly serious) complications in the future.

PPR Received today at 1:30 am EST ;D ;D ;D

12th Feb 2016 applicant
NDVO
DM on 8th or 9th May 2016

This is God speed and we are extremely happy and joyful.

My wife is already in Canada on Visitor Visa and luckily they have given option of sending passport to Ottawa for stamping. Just dispatched her passport, 2 photos and the passport request letter along with an Xpressport envelope to Ottawa, should reach them by tomorrow.

Once we receive her stamped passport, can we go to a local office for her landing formalities or would need to go on a border crossing only?

If we have to go to the Niagara Falls border crossing, can I (Applicant's spouse who is already a PR) accompany my wife during the flag-poling process?

Anyone who has either got their landing formality done within a local office or flag-poling at the border, kindly share your experiences.

Cheers to everyone receiving DM and PPR :D

Congrats canadafsw2015 :) Happy landing to your wife.

Once you get the passport back yes you can either go to a local office or cross the borders. I crossed the borders, is way faster. It seems that at the offices it takes longer, you need to book an appointment and if you are in Toronto, it seems that there is a waiting time, but you can call and see when they have an opening for your wife. At the borders it was super fast, as also the borders were empty when I went two months ago. The 'hardest' part is crossing the borders to the USA. We just told them that we wanted to turn back to Canada to get me landed. They took us out of the car & took our passports and told us to wait in the building. 5 minutes later an officer called us and asked us y we are here. We told him again that we want to cross the borders. He accompanied us back to our car, and make sure we turned left to go back to Canada. They will give your wife a paper, saying she is landing.. Once you get back into Canada they are super smiley and welcoming, you will park your car and just go to the stone building, and an officer will just take yours wife passport, and COPR. They will make her read it and sign it and that's all. Maybe they will tell her congrats and that she has every right as the Canadians except voting and going to the military!! Of course you can be there with her :p don't expect anything fancy. The officer that stamped my COPR was talking like a robot, I guess she did that millions of times but she did tell me congrats :)

Oh well for us it was exciting coz it was over :) Good luck and happy landing :)
