Hello Bunny. I feel you :'(. I was so paranoid back then when all other applicants got their AORs, while i had no idea the status of mine. We sent our application on September 2 and we did not get a letter nor the call center agents refused to give us an update until the processing times on the website states Sept 2 etc etc. Finally on November 5 the processing date change so the agent had no choice but to check our app. Finally we found out my husband was approved as sponsor and that the SA letter (not AOR) was sent via post mail. *though we were sure we indicated our email add.

Still we did not receive any letter via post-mail so we emailed cic and also ask them that if possible all updates can be sent via email. They then sent us our SA via email
and following all other updates such as AOR2 and Med Req.
Hey there. I am sorry that you also went thru this. I called this morning and the agent told me that they are only working on apps from Sept 2nd.. so he couldn't tell me anything about our application. He said I probably wouldn't receive any letters until 2ish weeks. I told him I will call back if I don't receive anything within two weeks. I guess things are behind :( really not the news I want since my husband and I are separated and I really need him here for various reasons including health reasons, and I fear that everything will be put behind now. I know we all need our spouses. So frustrating. Hopefully all will be well and I will soon hear something! I hope to get my stuff sent to me by email as well. So strange that you didn't even get the one that was mailed. This is why I'm going to call if I don't hear anything within 2 weeks.

Hi bunny82,

I do hope you get some really good news soon :) I suppose you know already that your husband can come and visit you and stay with you for the whole process of the application as a visitor, but that will depend on your financial situation as well.... I'm here in Canada with my common-law partner for more than a year now, 15 months actually. I don't know which one is harder... being apart from the one you love, or being in Canada without any status, no health coverage, not being able to work...

Just try to be positive and patient and things will work out well :)

Thank you! :) I am trying. You must be Inland then? Because I have never heard of it taking 15 months for Outland (it is usually 6-10 months max). We did Outland because it is quicker and he can't be here with no work anyway, as we wouldn't be able to survive. He visits, but only every 3-4 months and for only a week at a time... hopefully all will be well.

Ok, I just seen that you sent things off in September. I wonder how you got your AOR so fast? Back in Oct you did. I sent mine early September, not long after you, and here it is Nov 17th and nothing. It's odd because he said they are just now working on Sept 2nd apps, so it's all so confusing as to how some people are getting their letters and processing done quicker than others.

Hey,

No we are outland as well. We had to stay a year together to become common-law partners. I know it's very confusing. CIC doesn't seem to update their website regularly either.... Mine was received September 3rd and we got AOR in October and SA November 4th. I have no idea in which order they are processing them.

We chose outland as well cause is way faster. It seems like we will have the same VO, even though I'm not American. My file was send in Ottawa. The processing times are 17 months... but for US applicants it seems to be faster 10-12 months. :)

Just hang on a few more days and you will find out was is going on :)

Hi Everyone,

Some of you may have seen a thread I started in September under Family Class sponsorship about PhD research I'm doing on experiences of the Family Class application process and an anonymous online survey for people who are currently going through or recently finished the process. My goal is that my results can be used for advocacy to make improvements to the system for people who want to sponsor family members in the future.

I'm still looking for lots more people to respond to the survey. I would love to hear from people who sent in applications recently because you are in the best position to give feedback the current requirements and information that is currently provided to applicants. So if any of you are interested I'd like to invite you to go to https://survey.ryerson.ca:443/s?s=4526 .

On the first page you'll find more information about the survey, and at the bottom of that page there is a link to click on to start the survey. The survey can be done in English or French. The survey will also be much quicker for you than for people whose process is complete as you have fewer stages to tell me about. The moderators of this forum have given me permission to post about the survey.

Thanks so much everyone for taking the time to read this and good luck with your applications! :)

Wow, it's so strange because yours was received on Sept 3rd and you got both your AOR and SA and the agent I was speaking to today said they are just starting to work on apps received on Sept 2nd. Makes no sense.... where are you from? I have been told that Americans usually get in, in 6-9ish months from the time they send off the papers at the start until they get their PR. I have seen some Americans getting in this year in just 4 months time. But since things are obviously delayed right now (for specific people for whatever reason) I really don't know what we could be looking at ::)

Hi Kitty :) I am 64 days today. I didn't know the website changed. He told me they were working on Sept 2nd apps right now but maybe he didn't even bother checking. It's getting closer so hopefully we will soon hear some really nice news and the ball will start rolling.

I'm from Cyprus, but as I'm currently in Canada as a visitor my application was send to Ottawa and not Rome. Wow if it's 6 months that would be great. This is the thread for Ottawa if you want to follow it and the spreadsheet.

Thank you bunny. :-* Grrrr! that's almost the same thing they said to us. I can understand how very frustrating that can be for you Bunny. Stay strong! You'll get your positive response from CIC soooooon! :)

Yep. The letter was Dated Oct 30, CIC replied to us on our email inquiry Nov 10 with our SA. (if i remember correctly)
My husband and I figured it must've been lost or maybe delivered late or something.
But im very very relieved and thankful since we are finally receiving Updates now.

True. Some other Sept applicants got AORs as well pass the date stated on the website.

I think that the agent who was answering your call knew nothing...At CIC site it is clearly written, that information was last updated according to November 3d picture...Like yes, on November 3d they were working on applications received on September 8th...14 days passed after that.. Let us see if this week brings good news :)
Correct me if I`m wrong :) :) :)
