i read somewhere in the forum that CIC's computer programs that automatically sends email for notification has a software glitch. And sometimes you do not receive that email from that software. Worse is that the their system shows sent but there is no actual email received on user end. So there is kind of a glitch that sends the notification email in limbo....

.... and you ll never get it...

Therefore its good to be a part of this community and see what others are getting while checking your status daily.
Hope this helps

HEY I FOUND IT!

Hello All

Would you guys reccomend using an immigration consultant/ immigration attorney or doing the application yourself. My situation is pretty straightforward. Married 7 years husband is a US citizen and im a returning Canadian citizen. We have one child.

Finally I received SA today :D

No letter or email yet from them. Though my ecas both says IN PROCESS. Wonder whats taking so long :o. And what does IP mean mean on both Sponsorship Approval Status and Permanent Resident Status mean? Can only access ecas via receipt number

My ecas also says for both IN PROCESS, even though we did get sposnorship approval email from CIC last week. I suppose they just don't update ECAS very often....

Hello beturfewchair :)

Most of us in this forum we did our application ourselves. It's pretty easy to do if you follow all the guides, and post any questions in this forum. For most of them there is already an answer to the forum and there is a great post for how to organize your application.
If your case is straightforward just do it yourself. It will take you time to prepare and organize everything, but it's worth it. You only need a lawyer if you have issues with ur application or you are in a very complicated situation. Good luck :)

And congrats hs64 :)

Updates on my file.

We received your application to sponsor XYZ on September 9, 2015.
We started processing your application on October 26, 2015.
Sponsor Approval and file Transfer on November 10, 2015

On pace with CIC processing times....still wish could be done faster :)

Congrats takinghits16 :)

Hello. How did you know when was your file transferred?

Hello makeithappen2015

When you receive the letter for SA, it's written that your file has been transferred to X Visa Office. So as you have already been approved, I believe that automatically means that your file has been transfered. However that even though we received the SA, our ecas is still in process and doesn't even show SA or that they file has been transfered. Hopefully CIC will update them soon :) Did you receive the letter?

Welcome bethrfewchair

I would definetly do it yourself, you really don't need a lawyer - all the smarter lawyers are on this forum!!!! what i mean is there are so much knowledgable members who can assist with any questions you may have

Take a moment to flip through some of the threads to see all the happenings !!!

My case is not straight forward, like yours and we did it ourselves. We even submitted a 12 page essay from both of use about our entire relationship from day one to now.

Be sure you follow the guides and check list and you will be fine

Mine says OCT 30, 2015. i think my letter got lost in the mail. we still did not receive it. the SA i got was a reply for my inquiry last week. it was issued oct 30. i just got it after 10 days.

We received SA yesterday. Yaay! Hopefully, it will go smoothly and I will have PR by next summer. I'm currently in Canada with my husband but leaving to go back home to Texas tomorrow. I've been here for 2 months and I'll be going home for 2 months and then will return to visit my husband in Canada at the end of January.

Congrats Zake424
