This Tuesday/Saturday thing seems to be an actual trend. Has anyone actually received DM NOT on these days??? Haha

Id love to know why there is such a delay on ECAS. I got DM on June 18th and my COPR was printed June 19th. Yet ECAS didn't show DM until June 23 ... It seems totally random!

This is cool!!!! :) ... I would have never gone back to check.. now I am looking forward to it! :)

I just drove down to NYC... now to start the inventory... we sure do accumulate a lot of Sh*t lol

I know I checked it just out of curiosity a few days after landing and it had changed from DM to Complete, and then when you click Complete it showed the line about where my wife did her landing and became a PR etc.

Safe journeys on the road trip Maria and happy Landing on your way back 8)

Here's hoping this Tuesdays updates will bring some relief here soon! Good luck everyone!

It seems to be a trend for a good while now for the Ottawa VO and for US/Canada couples and some others too with the Ottawa VO.. I was checking my status like 10 times daily sometimes lol, but all the changes only happened Tues and Sats.. Many others have been updated only on those days too.. But as with anything CIC things could change on the fly at anytime :-\

So for all we know, us waiting could have DM right now... haha! So yours was on a Tuesday!

No movement here… Still 'Application Received'. Doc request end of May and sent in straight away, and it's been a month now… But nothing like lleahdoll's 8 weeks!

Congrats Maria on your COPR. Although I do think the reporter could have done a better job on the article. Didn't even mention how 2015 people are already getting their COPRs while us 2014 people are still stuck in limbo!

I'd like some advice on extending my visitor status. My status expires on July 30. This will be my second time extending my visitor status.

CIC asked for my son's birth certificate on June 11 and I emailed it on the same day. From what I've been seeing on this thread, there's a significant delay for most applicants who received document requests.

I was really hoping not to have to apply for extension again but it's really not looking good. Technically, I have two more days to submit my extension application since CIC website said application should be submitted a month before the status expires.

What are my chances of getting a DM (strongly preferably a positive one!) in the middle of July and receive COPR in two weeks or so and land before the end of July?

Also, what if I wait till mid July to send in my extension application? Would it be like breaking the rules or something?

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't suggest waiting to see if you get DM. I waited bc I thought I might get DM and I regretted it bc it just made the situation stressful and sometimes the MyCIC website can have problems and you wouldn't want that to happen last minute.
And the 30 days is mostly a suggestion. I'd just do it soon if I were you since the processing are longer than last year around this time. I did mine the day before my status expired and it was super stressful.

No one can predict when you might get DM. I had a doc request May 5th. They received it May 6th and I'm still waiting on my DM.

My visitor status was going to expire in Aug and I was going to apply this month then I got DM.

If I were you I would just apply ASAP and if you get DM then fantastic but if you don't then at least you have implied status until the visitor extension comes through. You might even get DM before the extension is finalized but at least you have it done and its one less thing to worry about.

Thank you!

I agree that I think the article should have covered more especially considering we had almost a 2 hour interview with him. I sent tons of documentation etc.. I was upset they didn't include that my FBI clearance and Marriage certificate were also lost. Especially because there was proof that they admitted they had misplaced those.

Either way, when I brought all those points up to the writer he said that the editors have the final say on what they want the writers to concentrate the story on. The editors wanted to make the main point of the story the 532 pages of proof that were misplaced to go with the previous report of error rates. So that is what was done.

I am happy at least it is out there. I wish more people could get their horror stories printed.

I was annoyed that they wrote we were approved in 8 months (half the processing time). It made readers think that we had preferential treatment or that we had it easy. They should have elaborated how the 16 month number is reached and how USA citizen straightforward apps do not take the full 16 months. Either way I knew that I was risking the story not being told 100% by going to the media but I still felt I had to do everything in my power to get heard. I like to think that us going to the media helped us get DM when we did. Our application received DM 1 day after the media contacted CIC for information on our file. Could it be a coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not.

My husband's MP had been waiting 4 weeks to hear back from CIC as soon as the media inquired they heard back that same day and contacted us.

I also think that maybe they didn't write about the 2015 applicants getting DM before the 2014 applicants because it was just my word on it. The Toronto Star likes to vet the information they publish thoroughly. I had to send them tons of proof of everything before they even considered writing our story. The only reason they even considered doing a solo piece on us was because they were impressed by my organization and how well I had documented everything with pictures and paper records. I had plenty of proof that they had received everything and lost it.

They of course claimed they had not received my relationship proof but they looked like idiots because it was with the application they claimed to have received. So how can you get one part of the box but not the other? ... They asked for the tracking number (cic asked) and we forwarded it to them, after that they said they would make sure I was not penalized if they did in fact make a mistake. They of course would not say they did make a mistake but that very next day I got DM. Its just weird how it all went down.

Sadly, even though I am super happy with DM right now that still does not erase the 7 weeks of hell I went through. I sent Ottawa 3 packages by Canada Post and 10 emails back and forth trying to fix this problem. Not to mention the extra money we had to spend to get all this stuff reprinted, shipped, to get new prints for the FBI, to get a new FBI check (which btw is still pending since they accepted the copy). I don't wish what I went through on anyone. I really did not stress about the wait until they lost my papers. After that I was just a mess, every email I got form Ottawa was just more requests and more bad news.

You are right. Waiting till the last minute is not a good idea. Their website could be down, my computer could be broken, I could get too sick to work on it, etc and I think about it everyday. The stress is not worth it. I'll get it done asap. Thank you for your advice!
